State Bank of India — Poor Service on call

I had withdrawn 5000rs from one of the SBI ATM and went to SBI bank and asked what is the procedure to return the duplicate notes and get the real one in place of that and they have asked to go to the branch to which that ATM is linked . Then I called help desk to confirm the branch that ATM is linked to but they said they cant confirm an again I called near by branch of that ATM then that lady asked me to call customer care to get the branch details of that ATM and asked me to call after 10 minutes. But no one is aware of what is the exact procedure to return duplicate notes. Horrible response I have got from all the people.
