State Bank Of India (SBI) — Appalling atm service | |||
I am a resident of ranchi but have to travel all over the country for work. I am also an sbi account holfer so obviously i have an atm/debit card too. In my experience, sbi atms uptime is not more than 10-12 hrs/day. The bank charges each of it's account holder an annual fees of 50/- for issuing the debit/atm card. We can safely assume that there are atleast 5% of indian population with an sbi atm card (5% is a generously low assumption). 6 crore*50 = 300 crores. That is the revenue generated just by the annual fee for issuing an atm card. 300 crores are going down the drain every year. If the bank cannot ensure 24/7 uptime of all it's atms, it should at-least stop charging us the amount. Like everywherr else in this country, this is just one more example of how govt. Run enterprises loot people and everything comes down to 2 aspects. Corruption & mismanagement. Any sbi official reading this, you are expected to provide a much better service than what you currently do with your atms. Stop inaugrating new atms and rather take care of the ones that exist.
