State Bank Of India [SBI] — Charged annual charges after 6 months

I was using simply click credit card till June of 2022 and after cancellation of simply click upgraded to Elite card on the same month. Now after six months in the month of January 2023, SBI people charged me the annual fee of Rs. 5000. SBI were supposed to claim the annual fee after one year. When I approached Customer care team, they said it’s SBI’s policy. At the time of application, their representative said the annual charges will be applicable after one year only and cheated me in 6 months. Also I will have to spent 10Lakhs within six months to get the benefit of annual fee wave off. Mearly cheating the public.
