[Resolved]  Airtel / Landline Telephone — harrassment and torture

I had a Airtel landline phone no. [protected]. Around December 2011 i have decided to no longer use Airtel services and disconnected my no. as I needed to move to another place. The customer care representative have agreed to shift the landline to my new adress. I continuously followed up with the Customer Service representative and after more than a month they informed that they cannot shift the line as they dont privide service in the area where I have shifted. Please note that when I have made the request and disconnected the line, there was not even a single paisa due against my name. Then after I was told that they couldnt shift the line, i started getting calls for unpaid amounts. I naturally refused to pay as there were no unpaid amounts for that no when I have requested for disconnect and its not my fault that Airtel have delayed the thing inspite of me following up regularly. Then the calls started becoming more nasty. Often some goons and illitererate people will call me and abuse me and my family. i am living a life of fear and uncertainity. Then I started getting calls from people saying they are from Delhi High Court and Karnataka High Court and that I will be finished, they will make sure my life is gone etc etc. Airtel Customer care was demanding Rs. 900/, I even paid 900 on that number from a local recharge shop as I was not able to recharge online. It was saying my account suspended and I cannot recharge. I paid that thinking this is the Goonda tax I need to pay to these big companies to leave peacefully. But still nothing have changed. i am still getting all these calls from Goons and Lawyers. Mr. Sunil Mittal, I am a very ordinary citizen of India. I don't have money, power or time to fight you either legally or with muscle power. But hope you understand the fear, trauma and pain I am going through for no fault of mine.
