This is a complain about Tikona broadband company for “not disconnecting broadband connection” and “threatening calls” for the payment of illegal charges that I am not accountable for. I subscribed to Tikona internet (UserID- [protected]), on 8 June 2014 and stopped using it on 31 May 2015 due to regular pathetic internet speed that I usually was getting over last couple of months. I made several complains to customer care regarding the poor internet connectivity, and each time I was assured that our engineer will visit your site and resolve the issue, but the situation remained same. After several calls and follow-ups, the engineer came but could not resolve the problem. On last visit on 31 May 2015, the service engineering clearly told me that the issue cannot be rectified because no. of customers are more in this area and the few towers installed are not capable of providing good internet service. Then I made termination request, of broadband connection, by making call to customer care on 1 June 2015 and unplugged the LAN cable from my system. The customer care representative told me that the whole disconnection process will take max. 15 days. After that I got 2-3 confirmation call regarding disconnection, and each time I explicitly and willingly told that I no more want your internet service, please terminate the service ASAP. On 14th June, I called customer care to take follow ups and I was told that “Please wait for next2-3 days. Our representative will visit your place to collect the devices”. But, neither representative came nor I could get any updates (by mail/message) regarding the disconnection process. Moreover, I wrote 2 mails on 17 June 2015 and 20 June 2015, but got no response against any mail. I also claimed waiver for the month of May, like 3-4 earlier months waivers, before making disconnection request, because I was facing lot of issues regarding slow internet speed for last 4-5 months. I always paid all dues for bills generated up to 26 May 2015 and my usage history could have up to 31 May 2015. Upon contacting, the customer care guy told me that “Your connection is seized and closed after making disconnection request. So you will get no bills generated thereafter. In some case, you might have to pay bill based on PRO-RATA basis, since there is a data usage history of 6 days after bill generation, up to 31 May 2015.” Since I already have claimed for waiver for the month of May, so the 5 days usage bill would be adjusted with that. In the mail, sent on 20 Jun 2015, I explicitly stated that “My data usage history (of tikonabroadband connection) would have up to 31 May 2015, so I am not going to pay a single penny beyond that.” Unexpectedly, on July 6, 2015 I got a mail from Tikona with the bill of amount Rs. 691.94 with due date 11 Jul 2015. Then I contacted customer care. This time also, I was assured that “please wait for next 48 hours and we will get back to you. You need not to pay the bill, since it is generated from our backend team which is not aware of this case. You will get you full ‘n’ final bill/later within next 2 days. “I waited further for some days, but nothing happened. On 12 July 2015, I got a mail “Termination of Services for Tikona Wi-Bro Account[protected] – Confirmation Mail- [protected]”, wherein it was stated that “We hereby confirm that services for your Account No.[protected] having User ID [protected] has been terminated as on Termination Date. We will send our executive to collect all the equipment’s provided to you by Tikona, please handover the same.” Further I got a mail on 7 Aug 2015 with subject “Service Disconnection for Tikona Account”, but no representative came to collect the devices and no full and final bill/NOC I got till now. Surprisingly, I got a threatening call on 19 Oct 2015 from Mr. Sandeep Sinha (Mob. No: [protected]), claiming himself to be an advocate from Mumbai session Court, told me to pay the dues of amount of Rs. 2208 within half an hour otherwise the case would be presented to magistrate and you will have to pay Rs.2208/- + Rs. 35, 000/- as penalty, and I will have to be physically present in session court Mumbai. I told him that I have paid all bills timely, and it is just unfair what are you asking for. When I asked him to send me the usage history and bill, he refused to do so. He told me that you can claim for refund later if you have not used the internet. I paid the amount of Rs.2208 (Transaction ID: [protected]TPC[protected] same day, because I was just new to this incidence and don’t want mental trauma. But got very embarrassed later thinking that while I paid all bills on time without delay, still I am being threaten by hooligan hired by so called reputed and big name Company, very disgusting. Later I found information from online consumer forums that Mr. Sadeep Sinha is actually a recovery agent of Tikona who pretend to be an advocate, extort customers and threaten them to pay the desired money. I am shocked, is this the way they are making business and claim to grow in the market? This type of cheap activity will just let them down, nothing else. I would like to get the status o[censored]sage history/ bills why I was charged with Rs.2208 and full ‘n’ final certificate, along with the refund and apology to doing this cheap and disgusting behaviour.

It is very disappointing that after complaining in this forum, your attention could be derived onto this issue. Still, I am waiting for fruitful action from your side which includes FNF receipt along with the money refund, that I was threatened to pay without usage, and written apology from your side. As far as your two replies are concerned, these are just templates that are copied and paste to all complains throughout the forum.
I could see enormous like complains on various consumer forums, which clearly indicates that these types of activities are no new or generic for you. You have just one motto - grab the money, anyhow by trapping new customers and extorting existing customers no matter they no more want your crap service.
In India, where law and order prevails, don’t let us feel like we live in extremist dominating country where a goon can terrorize and extort someone with no fear. Moreover, it’s a matter of consideration that If someone got disconnected the internet services, why you people don’t furnish all exit formalities on priority or, at least, normal basis same as at the time of subscribing new connection. Actually you stop paying attention towards those types of matter and never respond to any mail or call in this concern, and later you impose illegal bills and threaten users to pay them.

I know that you don’t respect rules and regulations and customers who give you business, still I request you, without assuring and asking me further, to finalize this matter ASAP, because already you have taken, wasted actually, too much time.
