[Resolved] Tikona — non disconnection of services, overcharging, harassment | |||
Hi, I had a tikona broadband connection, and it was on a 3 months prepaid basis. On I had put in a request for disconnection of the services on May 11th, 2019. I had already paid ₹ 3406.66 as advance rental and my rental period was valid till June 6th, 2019. On June 1st I received a mail from them quoted below : "Your request for cancellation is processed, however as your plan validity is till 06/June/2019, you may use your connection till your plan validity expires. Your rental will be stopped from 06/June/2019 and no further charges will be applied if no usage is seen." We observed that even post-June 6th the services were not disconnected and I was getting frequent calls from tikona asking me to continue with tikona. I had repeatedly requested the tikona's telecallers to stop my services and collect the modem from my location, but they didn't do anything about it. On Jul 12th I got a bill from tikona asking me to pay ₹1434.99 for the billing period of "07-Jun-19 to 06-Jul-19". I had conversation with tikona customer care asking them why i was charged inspite of asking for service disconnection, they just told me that i had pay the bill amount. I refused to pay an outstanding amount. I was getting constant calls from tikona asking me to pay the amount for next 7 day . On Sept 6th they sent me mail saying that if i dont pay the out standing bill they will take legal action against me. On 17th Sept I called tikona support asking them about the overstanding amount and i got a response from the executive saying that I don't need to pay the outstanding amount I was relived(i have the call recorded). Today (Sept 24th) I recieved a call from advocate named "Nidhi Sharma" saying she is filling a case against me in delhi court. Please help me i am being charged inspite of asking them to terminate my connection. I would also like to point out violation of TRAI regulation by Tikona applicable in my case, please refer below : "A consumer has made a request for termination (closure) of the service. How long has he to wait? What about rentals and other dues? A.The service provider shall terminate the connection within 7 days. They cannot charge rental or any other charges beyond the period of 7 days of request for closure made by the customer. Further, fresh bills shall be raised only after adjustment of the security deposit. The closure/ termination of service shall not be made conditional upon payment of dues/ bills/settlement of dispute. The outstanding amount of security deposits has to be refunded within 60 days of closure/ termination of service. In case of delay in refund beyond 60 days, a consumer is entitled to interest at the rate of 10% per annum for the number of days refund is delayed beyond 60 days" Was this information helpful? | |||
