[Resolved] Tikona — Unfair bill generation and harassment by customer care | |||||
I had been an active customer of Tikona from August 2015 with the Customer ID [protected]. But due to repetitive connectivity issues and poor technical support I had discontinued their connection i n March 2016 with complete settlement of bills. I had also asked their customer care representative to take away their modem and antenna since I no longer wished to again use their internet connection. But the representative had requested me to keep the modem and antenna to use if ever I changed my mind and decided to use their connection. I was also said that I would be charged per data consumed. In the following days, I repeatedly received calls from their representatives asking me to try out the connection assuring me that the issues have been resolved and that I continue only if I was satisfied with the internet speed . I declined this offer every time. In June 2016 a representative of theirs called me saying that I had been awarded 10 GB of free data and coerced me to login into their connection and just try out the quality of the connection. I finally agreed to it and subsequently used the connection for 2-3 days. I found that the connectivity and speed was still extremely poor. I also noticed that I was being charged for whatever data I was using even though I was told that I had free data. I immediately stopped using the connection. At the next billing date i got a bill with an amount of Rs 1239.99 with the data usage charges and also the rental charges according to my previously used data plan. I was not notified by call or mail or asked for confirmation for the reactivation of my data plan. I tried to to call their customer care no. multiple times to resolve this but was met with no response . After repeatedly trying this and failing to reach their customer care I let it be. I was continuously sent due date intimations by mail after I failed to pay the bill within the due date. After this started the calls for intimation to pay bills and I talked to their customer care executive listing all my grievances but still there was no resolution. I also asked them for any request/grievance no. but was not given one. I was always said that a customer care executive would call me later. This happened 2 or 3 times and I recounted my complete grievance every time to their customer care executive. Still no action was taken and the next bill also got generated. After not paying this bill within the due date I was informed that my connection got suspended since I had not paid the bill. I still got calls for intimation of payment and again informed their customer care executive all my grievances without any resolution from their part. In October 2016 I was sent a legal notice for non-payment of bills and subsequently I called a senior customer care representative of theirs detailing everything and was notified that my connection would be inactivated and my bill revised. But on 12th November 2016 I got a call on behalf of a lawyer from Delhi asking me to pay the bill or face legal consequences. Forced into a corner I had to pay a bill of Rs 2200 including late payment charges. I want a resolution to this unlawful bill generation on behalf of Tikona Broadband services and also to the constant mental harassment of their customer care services who paid no heed to my complaint.
