United Healthcare — Claim is being rejected on grounds of delay in submission

My wife Mrs. Anandita, delivered twin Baby girls on 28th October 2016.
The delivery was premature in early start of 7th month pregnancy.
My twin daughters were prematurely born with birth weight of around 1200gms and needed immediate care. They had few complications, for which they were hospitalized on the same date 28th October 2016.
The whole situation was a mix of happiness and anxiety along with lot of fear for the life of my daughters.
Every day 2 times I used to visit hospital and come home to take care of my wife who was recuperating after delivery.

We were worried till the end of the discharge of my daughters which was almost at the end of the month of November.

As any normal person, I have been into this situation for first time and was not all aware of Insurance policies.
It was during this period I got the Birth certificates of my daughters, which was needed for adding into UHC portal, as we had already stepped into NEW policy period from 1st of November.
Adding names for old policy and registration into UHC took more than 7 days.
On CTS portal o[censored]HC, I had raised few GSD’s for the same. After filing 3 GSD, I was able to get this properly done.

Also, I was not aware of all documents which were required for submission for claiming the Insurance. I came to Bengaluru office and realized I needed few other documents which I was missing and needed Hospital Stamp and signature.
Now, this was missing from 2 different hospitals, one where delivery took place and another where my daughters were admitted. These two were located in Ahmedabad and I am now in Bengaluru.
The co-ordination with both the hospitals took time and finally my documents were ready by start of January 2017.
I submitted my documents in our Chennai office in first week of January 2017.

During this whole phase I have gone through lot of troubled times and is very difficult to handle and get things done.

After document submission from internal courier(tracking number B[protected], to CTS Chennai office, I was waiting for some updates. But, almost 3 weeks past, no one was informing me anything and I was not getting any updates about the status. Several calls into UHC customer care, I was informed, that they have not received the documents. When I tried to find the reason behind it, I filed a GSD form our CTS portal.

Only after I filed this GSD, I am being informed which is more than 2 weeks after submission, that it cannot be processed.
But, during my last communication with UHC Customer care in the month of December 2016, I was informed that I need to submit a DELAY LETTER, along with documents so as to get this processed in case of any delay.

Madam, now, even though after lot of efforts on getting the proper documents and submitting it, my claim is being rejected.
I do not see a reason for claim rejection, when a person is genuinely admitted to hospital and after going through these trauma and difficulties in life, is denied claim only on the grounds of Delay in submission of documents.
Even if a person takes a Corporate Insurance and is now denied claims on simple ground of delay, then what is the point of taking Insurance.
I believed Insurance helps people with money for the hospitalization expense. But, this does not seems to be true in my case.

I hope you understand my situation and help me with my claims to be settled. Please HELP!!
