I had booked a TV repair with Urban company for since my tv display wasn't working. The technician arrived 2 hrs late and then dismounted the TV and told me that the cannot diagnose the problem at my home and will have to take it to the service centre in order to check what the issue is. It took him three days to even diagnose the issue and another 3 days to give me an estimate. The issue stated as per him was a display panel issue. Note that my TV was not very old and had zero cosmetic/external damage (no cracks, no scratches, nothing). The only issue was internal. The technician did not seem trustworthy and was giving me an exorbitant estimate (around 25k for a 49inch), hence i asked him not to repair it and return it back to me.
It took him 5 days to return me the TV; he made some issue or the other, health, vehicle not working, offered me an exchange with a 55 inch used for which I had to pay 20k. After 5 days of continuous mental anguish he returned my tv late evening. The TV which he returned was completely destroyed. The entire external screen had cracks and scratches all over, the side panels have dents an big holes all over them, when asked he simply said that it is normal.
The TV is so much damaged that i will have to throw it into the dustbin. I doubt even the scrap dealer will take it.
Upon contacting UC customer care, after 5-6 days of constant nagging, they blatantly told me that they will only give me Rs 5000 according to some 'terms and conditions '. Even though the UC insurance during and before booking clearly mentions Refund of amount upto Rs 10000 incase of damage during repair.
My TV is a samsung brand, curved, 49 inch Smart TV which certainly costs a lot more than 10000.
Urban Company should atleast repair the damages (irreparable, will have to throw it in trash) done by their technician or refund me atleast the insurance amount.
