[Resolved] Videocon Industries — no refund upon cancellation of videocon d2h subscription | |||||
I encounter a dreadful experience at present for committing the crime of opting videocon d2h services 3 years back. As mentioned, i opted for videocon d2h services 3 years back & the connection name was issues in the name of my roommate at chennai (Who did vacate from the room 2 years back). Since then i have been periodically calling the customer care team of videocon for updating my correct details for the connection (Name, mobile number e. T. C.). Interesting thing to be noted here is that they don't have a proper customer care team who can interact in english (If you don't know hindi, then there is absolutely no option for you to communicate with them). After a couple of requests, they finally updated my mobile number in their records (And not name). Now, i since i am planning to relocate from my current room, i contacted their team well in advance to inform about the cancellation of my subscription and hardware surrender (Set top box, dish e. T. C). And here comes the interesting part, post the request, i received calls from videocon team who informed that i won't be refunded the caution deposit which i spend during the installation & for the hardware return they are willing to return only 16% of the net value for the money which i spend (Approx 243rs against rs.1500 which i spend for installation.) during installation. Also, they are no ready to give the amount in cash but through cheque. Again, since the name of the customer is not updated correctly from their side (Which is clearly their fault, as mentioned above) they are not ready to change the customer name for now and they want me to give the below proofs for refunding me the nominal amount (Rs. 243) 1. Photo identity proof of new and old customer (Scan copy). 2. Address proof of new and old customer (Scan copy). 3. No objection certificate from existing old and new customer. (Format attached) This clearly shows their laxity in returning the refund amount since from the mobile number is clear that the connection is currently in my name and their intention is obvious that they want to reclaim their hardware without paying anything to me.
