[Resolved]  Vodafone India — Bill wrongly generated for Jan 2014 - [protected]

The internet charges in my bill for January 2014 have been generated wrongly. I have been charged more than 1500 for internet charges alone for January 2014 whereas it is clearly mentioned that the maximum amount charged for 3G would be capped at 1050. Please note that I even visited the vodafone store in Ascendas IT Park today and an executive named Arun tried to analyse my bill and even he was not able to understand why have I been charged 750 rs twice. It seems that 750 has been double counted. The MI_CAP_750, MI_CAP_650 and MI_CAP_1050 discount has not been properly applied. Only discounts 1050 and 750 seems to have been applied in my bill. Please analyse the bill and give me a proper explanation on why the internet charges have been charged twice. Initially in the first section there are plans of 1050, 650 and 750 charged for the whole month and at the end only 1050 and 750 had been deducted. 650 also should be deducted. Because the individual rents for each of the duration is also charged. I have raised this case to Vodafone and got a call from an executive named Varsha yesterday who also accepted that a discount of 750 is missing, but all of a sudden I got an email yesterday evening that the case is closed and the bill has generated properly without any adequate response. It is so frustrating with vodafone and they are generating some random numbers as internet charges. It i clearly said that the maximum charges would be capped at 1050 for a month on internet charges. But mine add up to more than 1500. I am not going to pay the bill unless I get a proper response from some one. If I don't get any response by tomorrow, I am going to surrender my connection.

It is clearly evident from Page 3 in the Discounts section that for MI_CAP_750_30d_PROMO_3G only an amount of 0.01 is applied instead of 750. Apart from this I am also charged for 3 different packages for the whole month - 1050, 750 and 650. Also another additional amount of 751.84 is charged. Apart from all these I am also charged the rental on a per day basis for the 31 days for internet. Even the vodafone executives in vodafone store (Ascendas IT Park) are clueless regarding my bill when I show it to them. They finally accepted that 750 discount is missing and raised another complaint from the store itself. Still vodafone simply closed my case without giving any proper response.

It's been more than 24 hours and I still haven't got any response from you. The main pain point here is that the outgoing is barred for my connection and I have great inconvenience because of this and I am forced to take a new connection from some other service provider only because of this. So, even if you take your own time, please make sure my outgoing is not barred.

Another issue is that you will have to waive the late payment charges as this is not my mistake that you have taken more than 10 days to respond to my query and have generated the bill wrongly.

Please take proper action.

I received an email from an executive named Shravan stating that the discount amount is 842.70 without any explanation at all. I don't know how Vodafone arrived at this arbitrary number.

The exact amount to be reduced is not 842.70 and it is supposed to be 650+750 = 1300 (plus taxes). Please find the explanation below.

I should not be charged even a single penny for internet charges apart from the monthly rental of 367.74 (details can be found in the bill being charged pro-rata basis on page 3). Apart from the monthly rental for 3G usage of 367.74, I have been charged 1050, 750, 650 and 751.84. All the four amounts need to be subtracted. But only 1050 and 751.84 are discounted in page 4. Hence the exact amount to be subtracted is 650+750 = 1300 (plus taxes).


Kindly do the needful and also activate my sim card immediately as the outgoing is barred now. I am really frustrated with Vodafone cheating me by generating a fake bill. If I had not been careful enough to check the bill, you would have cheated me 1000s of rupees for last month.

Hi Vodafone,

If the issue does not get resolved by today, I am going to change my connection to another service provider. Even after telling you so many times my outgoing is still not activated. Also, please make sure the amount adjusted reflects in the January month bill itself. If you say it will get reflected in some future month bill, I won't pay the bill.

What the hell?? No one called me from Vodafone. I clearly told the executive who spoke to me on Saturday, that if the issue doesn't get resolved by Monday I will change the connection. Please close my connection as of today. I won't need your cheating service any more. You guys are fooling the customers really well. You never call me and tell me that you have called me. You also have accepted you have cheated me 847 rupees for the month of January when it actually is more than 1300 rs. You have accepted that you have cheated me in the first place irrespective of the amount for God's sake. I have had enough. As mentioned above, please close my connection as of today and I can't pay a single penny.

Hello Vodafone,

Your executive called me today and she couldn't give me a proper explanation regarding the additional 650 charged apart from the internet charges being charged in a pro-rata basis and she just cut the call while I was talking. You guys can't explain my bill details and also are treating your customers so rudely. Very unprofessional way to treat your customer. Still you guys haven't activated my outgoing calls.
