Vodafone India — cheated or tricked? currently being tortured with pathetic customer service | |||
I went to mauritius on a international trip. My number is [protected] (Sam thomas). I haven’t registered for any international roaming services on my trip and through out the trip i had wifi devices as well as a local sim number in which i was running a hotspot. When i landed in india, there was no internet and i called customer service rigorously who made me troubleshoot the mobile with settings and then later asked me to reboot, asked me to take the sim slot out and re-insert in may be half a dozen calls spread across 2 days. Finally they agreed to launch my complaint and gave me an assurance of 24 hours to resolve it on 9th of october 2018 Nothing happened. I called them again and this time there server was working and hence they checked my details and told me that i have a gprs bill or 20000 due to international roaming (Which i never activated). Neither did i get any notification for activating the roaming. Neither did i get a notification that an international roaming plan is currently active. What will you call this? Now the guy told me to visit the vodafone center to clear my queries. I did that. My token number on 13th october at powai vodafone store was 68 I told them about the call and they checked my details and said sir it got barred by mistake and it will be released immediately before 8 pm as you have a healthy credit limit and you have no dues. As i guessed it, internet didn’t come back. Nor on saturday or on sunday. A bill came for 5.5k rs. I paid it off even though there was charges which were unjustified just in the hope that my internet could resume. It started effecting my work as i was missing deadlines and important customer mails given that i am in a sales job. I felt i will question them later about the odd charges later (My mistake) The internet didn’t come back again. Irritated to the core, i called customer support enquires about the matter 15 th october. The girl replied sir you have made the payment of this month’s bill in time and have a good credit limit. Your services should resume in 30 mins. Waited.. Waited... Waited and it was 7 pm. I didn’t have the time in office to breath before 7 and hence called back again giving them the complaint request number this time :[protected] The guy picked up and it was back to the same discussion which started on 8 th october... Gprs is barred due to non payment... Freak!! Go to the vodafone center!!! Sir. I went they checked my status and had promised to unbar my gprs Which never happened!! I have no dues I even the bill i got yesterday so that my internet could resume. You don’t realise how much of a trouble am i going through because of this. To which the gentleman replies “ me bata toh raha hun paise due hain “ Me : i went to the vodafone center they checked the status and mentioned there are no pending dues Customer rep : par me bata raha hun aapko ki you have to pay 20000 Me : why on earth??? Cr : you have to go to vodafone store to check that Me : i just went there on saturday Cr : you have to go again I had to hang up post that cause i had no energy left.
