[Resolved] Vodafone, India — Unexplained data consumption with subsequent billing and no action even with prior reporting to customer care | |||
On 1st August evening I got few SMS on hourly basis claiming a deduction of data of around 200 MB each time which was above my 1 GB data package. I informed Vodafone customer care as I was not using the mobile internet in such a way to consume 200 MB of data in every hour. Not having a satisfactory explanation and continue to have the same kind of SMS in an exponential way I called customer care repeatedly even sent one email to customer care with details of the SMS. Customer care executive told me they could not see these SMS in their data base / presently they could do nothing and requested me to wait till the bill generation (Bill generation date was on 7th August, 2014). Till the morning of 2nd August those unexplained data consumption continued to more than 2000 MB after which I manually stopped my data service from the mobile phone. Ultimately the bill comes as Rs. 11946.41 /- which is due to this excess data consumption of around 2.5 GB. With repeated mail to customer care and appellate authority the same reply is generating as the data usage was valid. But nobody for a single time have explained why there was no action taken/ suggestion given to me from the customer care when I started complaining about this unexplained data consumption from very beginning.
