Western Digital customer support has been notified about the posted complaint. Verified Support Oct 13, 2014 Western Digital Customer Care's response Hi Ssaria, I am glad to help you out Based on your post, it may be a System issue. I’d like to check with you, have you had any success plugging in other USB devices to the same computer? Have you checked Properties of HDD? Does it show the memory space? Could you give me some more details about that? For the meantime, I suggest you some basic troubleshooting steps that may help you to solve the issue. 1) To check if it's hardware or software issue. 2) Try to connect with different USB ports with the same computer. 3) Change the USB cable (USB 3.0). 4) Try a different disk to make sure that the problem is with the computer and not with the original disk. 5) Try to connect with another USB 3.0 device to test on the port, just to make sure its a driver issue. 6) Check and update drivers in device manager. Try to connect HDD with another working computer and run the Windows Data Lifeguard Diagnostics in system.
