Myself Gokkul M and my friend Meghana Srinivas had paid half the amount and decided to pay the other half after we got a gist of the quality of purchased services from y-axis to help us with our studies abroad. While we were confident after speaking to the study counselor when we had made the payment, but after the payment was made we were hit with the reality that the people who work there are not easily available. They only provide their extension numbers which makes it completely hard to reach them and adds a barrier to communication, after coming across the reviews on the Internet and the consumer complaints forum. We had completely lost confidence in the ability of the company and there was always a significant amount of delay between us and the communication with the company representative or the counsellor. After providing our list of choices of our universities, we were first told that admission to those universities was closed while we both had checked it particularly and had the knowledge that the admissions were still open for the universities which made us realize that we were misled and when we informed them about the admission dates, it is only then that they acknowledged that the admission dates were still open. We had also not yet still logged into their portals and we had to ask them for everything even for the documents checklist for us to provide to them for processing of our profile.
All the above issues made us decide to ask for a refund. They straightaway refused to give our own money back stating that we had signed an agreement. Additionally, we have yet to access their online portal, indicating that we have not utilized any of the services outlined in the agreement.
The agreement which they make you sign is a moneytrap. While I was also being considerate that it would be hard for them also. I offered them to deduct the GST amount and also some percentage of the money that we had paid, yet they still did not agree and were adamant about it, then I received a call from the manager of the company where she told me that we would put it on hold and after 2 months it will be considered for refund. If it was a marginally small amount I wouldn't have cared but this is a significantly big amount for both o[censored]s who have purchased their services. Our hard-earned money is being locked away in a company that has had a history o[censored]nethical practices based on the reviews that I have read which has made us stressed.
This is a request to the company to refund my amount.
