Zomato — regarding my refund & an order that I had to cancel coz of the hotel owner

Hello,

I placed order for 10 chapathis from hotel kolhapuri & had opted for home delivery option. However, the hotel owner said that is is for self pickup. So i cancelled the order. I had asked for a refund of 140 rs now.

The reply i got from zomato was :

We have introduced new policies which include that if the order gets cancelled post acceptance then cancellation charges equal to the order value gets levied as the food is already prepared and we do not support food wastage on our platform. Since we've checked that you were already informed about the cancellation charges by our chat support team. Hence, a refund for this order won't be possible from our end.

My point is :

Since the mistake was from the restaurant owner, i had to cancel with no other option left. I had opted for home delivery, but the owner said it was for self pick-up. Who can be so foolish to go to a hotel which is like 8 or 9 kms away just to pick-up chapatis? I think the owner did not want to send his delivery boy so far for such a low amt... By playing the blame game, u guyz are just extracting money in any which way possible.

And one more oder which was cancelled by the hotel only after which i got a sms from zomato saying that the refund of 98 would be credited back to my card within 7 working days. Today is the 7th day and still not a word about refund. Shameful that u guyz operate in such manner without any professional ethics. If still some left, do revert back with the needed solution.
