[Resolved] Idea/netsetter Usb Stick (Wireless Internet) — False advertisement of maximum speed and not informing about area of coverage | |
I had obtained a Idea net-setter connection which claimed to give maximum speed upto 236 Kbps. Finally i found out that it runs at a speed of 4-8 Kbps and often stays at 0. I cant even surf internet properly. After i raised complaint to them, one person called Dilip Sha called me and informed that the idea tower in my area had been demolished. My question is that if the tower has been demolished why did not they inform thier dealers about that... and after this call that person told me to again mail to Idea.. but they has not replied any more.. I had paid Rs. 2490/- for a device which can not be used and paying 849/- per month for the scheme. Later i came to know from sources that the company provides signal boosters to customers facing acute signal problems free of cost... I sent them mail demanding that also... but of no avail.. as of yet Was this information helpful? | |

mr roy said 100% true, i am also a victim of idea company. i suggest no body use the idea net setter . they dont have any proper customer service.

Never buy Wireless USB internet connection devices, its a crap and waste of money. Technically the data will be very slow. You did not notice that they are claiming speed upto.. 236Kbps. Which means it may reach this top speed but no guarantee that it will always work at this speed. You cannot achieve constant speed and stable connection using such devices, data flow (speed) is not constant, and fluctuates according to signal strength. People asking which one is good, Idea, vodafone, TATA, AirTel anything.. infact none of them are good.
If you want good internet connection, always prefer broadband connection coming through LAN or Telephone line. They will give actual speed like 256 kbps and wont cheat you saying "upto 256 kbps", find the difference between the sentences, you cannot sue them. BSNL is best currently, however dont expect good technical support if something goes wrong. You will find bunch of 1d1ots there. Go for UL-750 Plus or higher, their Limited bandwidth connection plans will burn your money and then brain... ha ha haaa... bye. be Happy..

dear sir, i agree due to the tone of the complaint. and i am happy to share my experience with all current and future internet users. i have been using bsnl broadband connection for last almost 4 years and it has been fantastic ..not by chance. i am in calcutta(subarb..30 kms away) and it is typically bsnl set up here..the exchange and ppl working there. i pay now rs. 5000/- per year and get 175 calls free per month with free 1.5 Gb plus[protected] free surfing. many advanced countries dont have this cheap net connectivity...i know. so in case you can manage your needs from home...go for bb from the govt. stable. it is not that bad as you hear.and anyway, there isnt much to it, you can easily configure your net connection if things go bad etc. no more. always fight for value for money. for example i just searched vodafone site for their usb stick connection..nowhere they talk about speed. so you know. idea isnt alone.

I brought idea usb modem along with the tariff plan a year ago. The speed was around 120kbps. I was informed that i had an unlimited download offer for the first month as i was one of the first customer of idea. so i used it lavishly day and night. after one month a bill tuned out in my name. it was from idea. it turned out to be a bill and the bill amount was...Rs.13, 789/- only!

idea is cheerter and bad service provider, no any custmat care support provider, i have bad experince with net access and idea net setter. i advice no one purchase idea net setter and net connection

I am using airtel broadband in chhattisgarh with unlimited pack at 750 pm (+10% taxes) and getting good speed + 2500 local landline (same city) or airtel mobile calls in my circle free. dont know whether this scheme is still active. u all can try
I have bought a USB IDEA stick as I was travelling in India...its enpensive to buy for a month but one requires to be connected while travelling in India...now I am returning back to UK n don't have any idea as how to keep it active...as I won't be using it there...is there any way that I can keep it active till I return back in 6mths to 1yr. ...there seems to be no customer care contact ...if any one can help...would appreciate ..

I have a T-mobile usb 500 connection. It is useless. I have refused payments and t-mobile threaten to take me to court. I need other people in the same situation to form an action groups against these cowboy internet providers.

At First time i used Reliance Net connection. as a result of that low connection speed, i turned the Idea Net Setter. There argumentation was very strong. Actually i fell in their words and took new connection of Idea Connection. Now i realize that they are also same like Reliance. Most of them the speed is shows me "0 .00" . as a result of this i cant do anything even surfing. i called them many times. they have 100ed of excuse. but no solutions. now if i call them they did not take the call.
