[Resolved]  ACT Fibernet — internet down for 15 days and still

Dont get act fibernet. I was using act network previously but after their disappointing and pathetic customer care service, i had no option other than disconnecting their service and opt for the airtel broadband.
Though i had to compromise a little with the speed but now at least i get persistent connectivity without worrying about the internet going down and most importantly, excellent customer care service which responds quickly to the queries and resolve the issue within hours.

Here is my story which changed my perspective about act...

I got their connection when i moved in to bangalore at bel road. The fibernet network and the offered speed fascinated us, so me and my friend decided to go for this high speed internet. We got 20 mbps with a cap of 60gb @ around 1400 including taxes.

The internet worked fine and usually due to high speed, we generally exhausted our limit of 60gb within 2 or 3 weeks at max and then a very slow speed connectivity is all you will get of mere 512 kbps for saying only, its like no connectivity only.

Then we had to reset the limit which is chargeable again depending on the number of days left in the month cycle. So basically its a trap and a marketing strategy of first luring the users and then stealing from their pockets.

First 2 months, it all was going fine until then. Then the real problem started. The internet goes down all of a sudden one day saying error with dns probe something. I reset my router thinking there is some problem from my side, but no help.

I contacted their customer service then, which is i must say, the worst i have seen after bsnl. They picked the call after 12-15 minutes and mind you the call is chargeable, i told the executive about my problem, he said it would be resolvedd within a day or two. I said ok try to fix it as quickly as possible.
The next day i get a message that your problem has been resolved, i checked the connection, it was working fine but again after 10 minutes of browsing same problem cropped up.
Again i had to call their customer service, which again after 12 minutes they will pick up the call and a new complaint was registered again. He also assured me that by end of the day we get the problem resolved. I was calm till then.
I was on work from home, so i needed the internet badly, but i somehow managed to let go this time and hoped they would resolve it quickly.
I again got the message of the resolving and the internet was up again. This time a little longer but after couple of hours it still went down. This time it freaked me out.
I was in the middle of an important work and this happened when they assured me everything is fixed.
Again i had to call them, this time i told them clearly that this is not acceptable and they should fix it anyhow, and i told them all in good tone controllong my anger and frustration. He told me within hours it will be fixed and i will get one technician to attend me.

Neither any one called or showed up, nor the problem was resolved.
For the fourth time in the day i again called up, every time a newcustomers executive tries to say the same scripted words again and again. This time i lost my temper, i already had spent over 100 bucks on this hell long customer service and no one was able to resolve the problem and neither they were able to connect me to any of their technician. I asked them to connect my call to his senior and the executive guy cut me off the line, making me more angry.

5th, time furiated and boiling with anger i called them again and after few berating and argument this time i got my call connected to the senior.
I told him about my problem and he did apologize to me but again said the same words as the executives.
I told him if the problem is not i will disconnect your connection and he was like ok you can do it and he had the audacity to say that i just had to give a call and after four hours my connection will be disconnected, without even trying to make up for their wrong.

Act has established its monopoly in the fibernet market and are taking undue advantage of this thing.
I was pissed of with that kind of behaviour of theirs, so i disconnected from their service and took airtel broadband and i haven't faced any such trouble from airtel side.

So think twice before getting act connection, if you can do with their poor and arrogant service executives.
