[Resolved]  Airtel — Airtel 4g wi-fi hotspot

I was approached by airtel's marketing (Kolkata) team offering me a alcatel mw40cj, a 4g wi-fi device under postpaid scheme, the offer was to pay 999+taxes per month for 3gb/day + 12gb extra. I had to give away my mts mblaze device as well as pay another 1200+ to the sales executive that visited me.

All was well until the 12gb was exhausted. For the past 8-9 days the speed gets reset to 2g @ midnight, ie 00:00hrs, and it doesnt get back to normal until 6am or so. I have complained 5 times by calling 198 and registering the complain. Each time they promise me that i will be getting a complaint number via email and sms, but i don't get any.

Today the speed was reset to 2g much before midnight, even though i had not even used the full 3gb for the day. When i called up customer care to complain about the same, an executive by the name of partho hira (Bengali) received my complaint and without asking anything said that i have taken the complain and it will be rectified asap, i requested him for the complaint number, he said you will get it via sms (The same excuse each time), when i insisted that this has been happening for more than a week and i need a complaint number or else i will have to approach the consumer forum, the same executive, partho hira spoke in a rude manner and said go and file a complain, i asked him if this is the way you are supposed to talk to your customers, he misbehaved with me and when i asked him if i could talk to a supervisor, he denied and said that you can call again and find someone else to complain to.

Firstly, i have suffered for over a week due to this problem, and now your customer care executives, instead of helping me out, are misbehaving and acting rogue, is this the standard that the company has come down to?

I have been a loyal customer for over a decade now, but if this is the customer "care" that i am going to get, then i would be forced to move to a carrier which would at least train its customer service reps to respect its customers.

Hence, i would like to lodge an official complaint in the name of mr partho hira, for his misconduct/misbehavior and unwillingness to provide me with a complaint number, as it turns out, he did not even register my complain, which i found out once i called back again, and the call connected to another representative.

Next i would like you to either resolve the issue with my connection which throttles the speed to 2g every midnight and takes 6 hours or more to get back to 4g. Moreover, i am unable to check my data usage for the past 3 days, it shows "error. Unable to load information".

If these issues cannot be addressed, i would request you to refund my money and return the device that was taken by your marketing team so that i can get my internet connectivity back to normal, without the daily issues and the harassment that follows, thanks to the misconduct of your employees.

Thanks a lot for your response, but the problem just keeps getting worse day by day,

Latest UPDATE: Now I am not even getting the 3GB per day from this Cycle, which begun from 11th of July 2017. All the data is being deducted from my 12GB monthly data and 3GB per day is not getting added to it as it used to during the first cycle. I checked the usage post midnight, and even now, the 3GB additional per day has definitely not been added to my account.

Moreover, I have not received any correspondence from Airtel in this regard, nor have I received any SMS/Email regarding the numerous complaints that I had lodged earlier.

I did not receive any calls/missed calls from anyone recently, My alternate contact details have been provided via the website. Anyway, I am currently available on two numbers, the phone is dual sim, hence if I am on call on one number, you won't be able to reach me on the other number.

Feel free to call me any time after 3pm. I would also like to point out that Usage history section of My Account in Airtel shows no data. According to the customer service specialist, I should be able to see my daily usage in that section, but it is totally blank on my end. I have tried using it on Chrome as well as Microsoft Edge.
