[Resolved]  Airtel — Can't call airtel number from mtnl landline

I recently ported by number from vodafone to airtel. But immediately on porting the number, calls made from mtnl landlines did not come through. It gives a message saying 'your vodafone number is temporarily disconnected.'
Why would i get this message as the number has been ported to airtel for all purposes now.
The customer care has been no help.
