Airtel — charges for 1860- series - false marketing o[censored]nlimited calling plans

I am being charged for calling 1860 series numbers in-spite of having a unlimited local and std calling plan.

On reaching out to airtel i was told that these are special numbers and you will be charged inspite of having a unlimited calling plan.

Email from airtel below -

At the outset, i regret the inconvenience caused to you.

As discussed on your mobile number [protected], i have checked our records and would like to inform you that, there is a charge of rs. 2/- towards a call to 186042xxxxx on[protected] and a charge of rs. 4.8/- towards a call to 186050xxxxx on[protected]. However, the numbers 186042xxxxx, 186050xxxxx are special numbers and will not be applicable under unlimited benefit plan.

Please note some toll free numbers are location specific and operator specific as well.

Also, service provider (Who owns the toll free number) can opt to pay for calls received from a particular operator, while treating other calls as chargeable.

Further, rs. 6.8/- will be credited to your account within 30 minutes.
