In October, I changed my mobile number to a new Airtel connection and faced significant issues from the start. I visited three different stores (Vidyaranyapura, Malleswaram, and Mathikere) a total of six times trying to activate my connection. Despite multiple Aadhaar verifications, I encountered repeated authentication failures.
The problem escalated when I was pressured to buy a family postpaid plan with four connections, which was not my preferred choice. Since then, I have been stuck in what Airtel calls their "SCAM Protection" plan. The mobile app does not provide any option to switch out of this plan to prepaid, and I am forced to visit physical stores repeatedly without any effective phone or online support.
Store representatives cited location issues in my area (560090) as a reason for failure to convert the plan, but the app itself lacks any conversion functionality. Even after six visits, I still do not have a simple prepaid connection, which should be a basic and straightforward service.
My experience has been frustrating due to the lack of clear options and poor support, and I would caution potential customers to be aware of these limitations when choosing Airtel. Was this information helpful? |
