Airtel — Name Change in Airtel Prepaid Mobile

I have a Airtel Prepaid Mobile number. Unknown to me, my name was incorrectly entered into the Airtel database by the vendor. After the pandemic, the vendor has wound up. I need to get my name corrected. Airtel say this cannot be done online, and I must visit their main Airtel Centre. There is no guidance on Airtel website or from their online call centre regarding the procedure to correct my name. What documents should I show? Airtel representatives on the ground are not aware at all. But when the Government has a process to correct names in its documents like Aadhar and passport, surely Airtel must have a similar process if it operates in India.
