Airtel — post paid to pre paid conversion - a big torture and a pain to customers

Address:Shimoga, Karnataka, 577205

As a airtel customer for over 12 years, i have experienced many issues with airtel and now when i want to move out of the country and request to close my postpaid and move it to pre-paid connection there starts airtels game.

I am asked to visit stores and in the stores the kind of negligence on you is a pure gamble by airtel to make sure customer doesn't go out of postpaid.

The mail i received from airtel customer care

A. Visit the nearest airtel store with your aadhaar number
B. Fill in the customer agreement form and complete your biometrics

Aadhaar is the fastest way to verification. If you don't have an aadhaar, please carry the following documents:
A. Photo id proof
B. Address proof
C. Passport-sized photograph

Do note that it'll take 24 hours to migrate your number post submission of all your documents.

In less than an year i am asked to again give biometrics and stuff which is why they need customer to visit stores to convert to prepaid, what a foolish process, please note this process is not documented in the website nor there is any defined process of conversion published at the website. It is airtels responsibility to make sure such process is published to customers and have necessary approvals from trai. How can this process apply if a customer already moved out of the country? Does he need to come to airtel stores haha wat a joke and loophole i this airtel friendly process..

Airtel has become so cheap that they torture customers when it comes to postpaid to conversion. This is not only a open gambling with citizens of this country but a kind of corporate harassment where customers are helpless.

Please avoid airtel postpaid you will end up big challenges when it comes to moving out of prepaid. Now as a airtel customer you are helpless other than visitng a airtel stores and bare the torchure they give when it comes to conversion.

Its a fraud in the names o[censored]ndocumeted and undefined process.

Hi Team,

After going though the pain of this ### process with a huge and cry in coverting postpaid to prepaid, I was told that services will be normal and that you need to recharge after convertion.

For almost 4hours there was no incoming and after several restart I was able to get incoming messages. I tried recharging mobile no after convetion all 3 transactions failed and the money is deducted from my account. Nor there is any outcoming sevice.

Every time I recharge I am getting message that recharge failed due to technical issues. What a pain you and your airtel service is, initial I was not even getting OTP to recharge now after that issues when recharged its failing as mANY TIME.

What a shame on you airtel ? When can this issue get resolved..?

Thanks,
Prashanth
