I am writing to you regarding a problem I have been facing for the last 10-12 days almost.
I have been an Airtel customer with a same number ([protected]) which I have been using for the last 13 years. Paying bills on time, it has been my Primary number for so many years and now due to an unfortunate situation where my Number got deactivated my mistake while converting to esim on my new phone.
Currently, I am based in Banglore (Karnataka), but my number was registered under Maharashtra Circle as I was based there earlier. After visiting 2 Airtel Centers (Rammurthynagar & Kamanahalli) several times, continuously following up on the Activation Status, I was informed that my Identity doesn't match in your Backend systems. I personally went and checked the pictures myself, and to my surprise I see some image of your Staff have been uploaded along with my Image. So due to this mismanagement of your backend, I as a customer was informed by your staff that I have to travel from karnataka to Maharashtra/Goa to get my records corrected.
My only question as a customer for such a long time, how do you think this is a feasible resolution provided by your staff. Who will bear the expenses of my travel or stay there. And why will I take the hassle of travelling to Maharashtra just because of some stupid mistake made by your backend team. I have my Aadhar, Pan, Bankins, investments linked to this number, Who is liable of data protection here. Where someone else's image has been mapped to my Primary Number for so long. This is a major legal issue if I drag this to Consumer Forums.
Now after 10 days, wherein I have been locked out of all the Banking platforms, I am unable to make transactions because of the OTP verifications. We are living in a Digital era as we all call it, and the resolution provided by your team is still in the 18th century. What is my fault as a customer that I will have to be hassled just for a SIMPLE APPROVAL that Maharashtra circle needs to provide for this activation.
It's a terrible experience that I am facing with Airtel currently. What is the Solution now? How do I get my NUMBER ACTIVATED on PRIORITY. I need a solution. Was this information helpful? |
