Airtel — tele verification number invalid

I have ported my sim from jio to airtel prepaid. I was asked to remove my old sim once network disappears and the
insert the new sim and dial 59090 for tele verification. However I'm unable to dial 59090 for tele verification after porting my sim to airtel. The IVM says number is invalid upon dialing.
Also, Airtel's customer service is so pathetic. On sending an email, only reply I receive is to link my phone number with my email. How am I supposed to link my email with my number when I am unable to receive otp for linking. Also no help was provided from Airtel's Twitter account
