I have been using my airtel number ([protected]) since Feb, 2012. The SIM has stopped working suddenly, it is not being detected by any phone.
Similar thing happened around 7 years back when the sim had stopped working and the person told me that it is not under my name, so, i submitted my documents and details to prove that number belonged to me. They had issued me a new sim.
Recently, the sim has stopped working again and as I am overseas, my friend went to the airtel store. It turned out they haven't transferred the sim in my name it is still in that old person's name. Means they took the documents but didn't update it. Now, they want that person in whose name the sim is to be physically present there. The number is linked to all of my bank accounts and id. I have been using it since 2012, I have active international roaming pack as well as recently recharged for the validity pack as well which is valid till April, 2026.
The airtel store people are refusing to give replacement sim to my friend and they want the person in whose name the sim is to be physically present. How can I find that person, it is airtel's fault that they didn't update the details last time.
I need that replacement sim and need to keep that number because I had it is linked to all my bank accounts and ids. I came back to UK last month so, I can't go back to India soon. Please, help me with getting my number back and getting a replacement sim.
Note: I have airtel thanks app logged in with that number at the moment and I can provide frequently contacted numbers etc. to prove that number belongs to me. Was this information helpful? |
