Airtel — Unable to recharge Airtel Phone number using ICICI NRO Debit card

I am NRI with OCI card and citizen o[censored]SA. I have taken a prepaid number few month back so that I can one day link it with UPI using my ICICI NRO account for UPI banking.

Currently, I need to recharge this number to activate UPI on ICICI NRO account.

So I tried to recharge it online using ICICI NRO debit card and it failed to process. How can a NRI retain an Indian mobile phone (prepaid) number using NRO account for using UPI services?
