Airtel — wrong postpaid bill plan activation and wrong bill amount | |||||
Around 50 days back i ported my mobile number from vodafone to airtel. I opted for airtel postpaid plan of rs.499/month. At the end of first month, when the bill was generated, it was of amount 3023.47. On calling the customer care, they informed that it was an advance rental plan (Rs. 2499) that was by mistake activated by airtel and asked be to pay rs.588 for my opted plan (Which i paid) and the excessive amount will be waived off. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. They did not wave it off. Despite of calling customer care numerous times, all they said was, the issue will be resolved in next 24-48 hours and the reimbursements will be reflected in next month's bill. Now i am getting auto response from airtel that all the outgoing services from my number will be deactivated from tomorrow (02-aug-2018) if i don't play the bill. I again called customer care regarding the issue, they waived off rs.435 of the excessive amount and rs. 2000 is still pending. Now, the customer care is saying that they have activated the rs. 2499 advanced rental plan which is valid for 6 months. I did not ask for it. Before activating the plan, they did not ask for my consent. Even after activating the plan, they did not inform me. Now if the extra amount of rs. 2000 is not paid or waived off by tomorrow, my outgoing services will be down. This is not my fault. This is due to the unethical practice of airtel!!
