Airtel — xstream dth box picture quality issues

Purchased a xstream dth set top box for an amount of 2500/- including installation charges.

On the same day, i noticed strange picture quality issues. The picture is dark and a red tinge is present. I immediately informed airtel regarding the same and they directly blamed that tv brightness setting needs to be checked.

I checked the same and even connected my xbox gaming console and fire tv stick to the tv and found both of them to be producing good picture quality. Only the airtel dth failed to produce proper picture.

Upon checking, i found that the set top box is sending hdr (Higher dynamic range) signals to the tv forcefully, without checking whether the tv supports it or not.
This is resulting in distorted and dark image on the tv (Image attached).

I connected the dth box to my xbox console and connected the console to the tv i. E. I connected the airtel dth via hdmi pass-through the xbox console.
The xbox corrected the picture and proper picture was produced (Image attached)

I contacted airtel nodal desk and emailed them the image samples from both direct hdmi connection as well as of the hdmi pass-through with the xbox console.
I got a call back from their nodal desk and the person confirmed that there was an ongoing compatibility issue of their xstream dth box and non-hdr capable tv like mi tv.

They have informed their team and it would take some time for the issue to be resolved.

Then i said i had paid 2500/- for the dth and i cannot even watch tv properly and requested them to send a normal hd set top box which does not have the mentioned issue (As checked in front of airtel service engineer).

The person agreed to send the hd dth on a temporary basis until the xstream dth issue gets resolved.

Suddenly, i got an email from airtel saying the issue has been resolved and they found no issue in their xstream box and all the issue they blamed on my tv.

This is ridiculous.

I have checked a prominent forum in which several people have expressed their concerned over the same problem being faced due to the xstream box hdr picture quality.

I want airtel to either send me a hd set top box on a temporary basis until they fix their xstream box or they refund the entire amount paid by me along with proper compensation.
