Fake Timeshare Reservation on Airbnb
Today I came across making a fake reservation on Dec, 21 2021 with Kaafal Cottage bookings from Airbnb which i want to report.
My booking was in the name of Abhishek Talesra with Airbnb (Reservation Code - HMQHM32WYM) which was cancelled
Booking dated: Dec 29 - Jan 1, for 3 rooms.
I was charged ₹39635.31 INR for this fake booking for Kaafal Cottage in Airbnb
Owner of this account is operating with Airbnb company to fake their listing and then contact customer and charge them again with attractive or lower charges so that customer enters into this vicious circle and end up paying thinking they have made a good deal
Most likely these fake accounts are monitored and operated from Dehradun Uttarakhand, as per the conversations that i had with person on call

Conversation and their approach to customer -
They will call you post you have booked on Airbnb and actually might be preparing yourself for travel to your booked property or have already made travel plans further and then say 'Sir your booking was cancelled but if you need to continue please pay us some booking amount or full payment with additional discounts and we shall again reserve your booking'
Customer is astonished by sudden changes in bookings and have to respond as their itinerary was all set.
They will say 'We have recently posted our property on Airbnb portal and so not have much reviews (basically they have to change their property listed every time in order to refrain themselves from bing tracked down by Airbnb or courts and that's the way they can fool people).

Improper listings and non refund of money
I booked an apartment from Airbnb in Vrindavan on October 1st and paid full money in advance 6300 Rs. i reached the place around 5pm and saw that apartment isn’t anything like the pics. It was very unclean. Caretakers family was already sleeping on the bed. When we looked around we saw that bathroom was completely dirty as well. A wall had wet tobacco spit marks. We left the place immediately and complained it to Airbnb. They asked for evidence and I shared the video with them. After a week they came back telling that yes apartment was unclean and it was wrong and they have informed the owner but they will not refund the money.

First of all, we were a group of 4 members who visited this property on 25th january 2020 booked via airbnb for a one night stay. We paid a little over 8000 rupees for this which is very highly priced considering the facilities available and the kind of service they offer. It was totally not worth it. It is one of the worst places i have visited in my life and it was a total waste of our time and valuable money.in less than 24 hours that we spent at this place, we faced a lot of issues. I will list down a few major ones.
1) on booking this property, it was informed by the host that a caretaker will be there to assist for any needs. We met the caretaker when we reached the property at around 12 noon. He handed over the property keys to us and disappeared. We were told that he will assist over phone which never happened. Most of the times, the caretaker was least bothered to assist.
2) when we reached the premises, there were some workers building a "pandal" for a marriage function that was to be held there. Since our trip was planned in advance and also since we called the host and the caretaker day before the trip, we were never informed that such a function is going to be held in the premises and that there will be workers around. We paid the amount so as we get the entire place to ourselves. There were workers most of the afternoon. It was hard to maneuver our vehicle within the premises with all the erection work going on. Moreover we wanted to venture out to the beach nearby but could not do so since there were workers around and we did not want to venture out leaving our valuables behind.
3) the washrooms at the facility were very dirty. There were two big frogs and lizards in one of them because of which we did not even take a bath or attend to natures call.
4) the flush in the other washroom was broken due to which the water drained out continuously and all the water in the overhead tank drained off. We were unaware of how to refill the tank and the caretaker was not available to assist. We had to figure out on our own where the main pump was and switched it on to fill the tank.
5) the kitchen at the facility was dirty too. The trolleys had lizards in them and lacked of basic essentials such as salt, sugar, forks, knives etc. There is no place in the neighborhood to order food or restaurants nearby as advertised on airbnb. We were lucky enough to carry snacks with us. The only food that we had during our stay there.
6) the property did not have chairs or tables available. Only two small sofas which were dirty and were very uncomfortable. We had to hire for chairs and a table from outside paying money from our own pockets. The caretaker refused to assist us with this request.
7) airbnb is basically bed & breakfast. The next morning prior to check out, we were not provided with morning tea or breakfast. We wandered around 2 kms from the property in search of a tea stall but to no avail. Finally we checked out of the facility at 8 am in the morning and had our breakfast on our way back, even though we had paid for this. We called the caretaker in the morning to check if he can arrange for tea and breakfast. He was literally clueless about what to do.
Pathetic experience and service overall. Never ever visit this place. We expect a refund from airbnb for the kind of service offered and request them to de-list the property from their website.

refund calculated in very wrong way.

I had booked a airbnb in france on 31-may to 01-june 2019. But due to change in plan i cancelled the booking.
My cancellation policy was moderate.
Cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 5 days before check-in
And the entire reservation is refundable. After that, cancel up to 5 days before check-in and the nights are refundable, but the service
Fee isn’t. Cancel within 5 days of check-in and the service fee, first night, and half of the following nights are non-refundable.
While cancellation it showed be proper values. But after confirmation on mail, they added tax of 4000/-inr and refunded only 1200/-inr.
I have both the receipt with tax value changing from 800/- to 4700/-. This is unethical and fraud.
And also to complaint on their website it is very difficult to find contact process.
I raised the complaint on 9th may by both call and message. Still no reply and automatically complaint got closed with my concern

Last minute cancellation by Airbnb which led to substantial losses

Following is the profile of airbnb singapore host who cancelled my booking done around 4 months in advance. This lead to great mental & financial stress to me and my family including infants. Total losses suffered as a result of this unprofessional conduct to the tune of rs 70, 000 (Rs 60, 000 additional paid to other hotel at last moment, rs 10, 000 interest loss on the money held by airbnb for 4 months).

I have done instant booking and payment for rs.807 and i have done cancellation immediately. my payment method is by debit card. my amount has been reducted and it is not refunded back. the message i received was amount 807 debited to ecom:ubiacq00-payu_recharge gurgaon dlin.

My reservation request-HMKP3DJC2E was declined on 3rd may and i was assured that my payment would be refunded to the account that was used to make the payment. I have received no payment till now. It has been more than a month.

My reservation request (HMKP3DJC2E) for a room in chicago was declined by the host on 3rd may 2017 by the host . Airbnb assured that the refund will processed to the account, which was used to make the payment. It has been more than a month and I have received no money till now. My refund amount is Rs3624

Booking cancellation done due to no confirmation yet charges deducted.
I had booked a room in hotel blue lagoon on 13th April 2015 in pondicherry through this online hotel booking site airbnb.com.
Firstly I never received any confirmation or where abouts of the booking. And yet the amount of INR 667 was deducted twice. One I dropped a complaint. Only one of the deductions was refunded.
I am still awaiting for the second deducted amount to be refunded... because neither I received any confirmation of the booking and the booking was cancelled as well which is reflected in my airbnb account booking history.
