Faulty captiva given
I bought new chevrolet captiva on 09/12/21. The day I bought it's started giving problems. Now it's life threatening issues. Brake gets stuck while changing gears ( automatic version). Brake becomes hard and I can't push. Even sometimes not able to start because of it. I think we have been cheated. It's life threatening issues.

She said "no u have to directly join".. At i got to know dat it is a fraud call... I request u ppl to plz take strict action on dese fake job mails.
Dese fraud mail are actually befooling some innocent students who are unaware of dese fraud mails.

Horrible Experience with General Motors Chevrolet Damaged my Car during service.

Hi All,
Just wanted to share my experience at Chevrolet Service Centre in India.
I brought my car to Chevrolet service Centre in India, for regular service and replacement of ignition coil. At the time of handover of my car, I specifically told the service advise that CNG kit is installed in my car, if you guys are comfortable doing the service and replacement, then go ahead else, let me know, so that I can take a call.
The service advisor, prepared the estimate for all the work, and told me to come next day for delivery.
After two days, when I went to the service station for delivery of my car, the service advise told handover the bill to me and get the car washed. He informed me that get the CNG disconnect from outside and come for replacement of ignition coil. I made the complete payment as told to me by service advisor, though the ignition coil was not replaced.
When I got my car, my car was not getting switched to CNG. When I get this checked with the local mechanic, I got to know that the main component of the CNG kit got damaged and needs to be replaced.
The replacement of ignition coil, which was supposed to be done did not happen and they damaged the CNG kit in my car.
I made a complaint to Chevrolet customer care next day and got a call from service advisor. I told them if you guys were not comfortable working on call having CNG kit installed in it, you should have told me at the initial stage instead of damaging my car.
I said, whatever happed, now have to get this done from outside. He insist me to bring the car to service Centre and told me that I will not be charged. The customer care manager also called me and told me to bring the car for service station and they will get this fixed.
I brought the car to the service station as per their given time and date. After two days, they told me that I have to pay ten thousand rupee more for repaid and they will not fix the CNG kit damage. This was crazy.
Actually, they wanted to me to bring the car again to their service station so that the generate more revenue and more money.
I made a complaint at higher authorities. Initially, they we not ready to believe me that Chevrolet service station behaved like this.
One of them told me that I am making excuses to avoid payment.
This is the way Chevrolet India is working in India and do not hesitate to make such comments on customers to earn money.
I made the payment whatever they told me and get my car released from them.
After that, I shared the call conversation and other evidence with the higher authorities, which proved them that the service station was wrong.
Now, I have my car with me with damaged CNG system in it.

I the owner of chevrolet beat diesel car got a problem before 10 days of 4 tyres the tyres get fully uneven shape (tyres bend) as the service centre executive told yes the problem is there got 21000 km and it's less than a year done till now, the tyres r of goodyear but got no response regarding my issue the authorised dealer says the problem is of tyre company and the dealer submitted the report to the good year company but now the member of good year company Mr Prakash says the problem is differt the tyres r wheel out

A/C not working for last two years

Sir,
I bought Chevrolet Aveo in 2007 from authorised Dealer M/s Pashupati Dealers, Dibrugarh, Assam. But in 20012, I wanted to induced pressure as the cooling becomimg low told by Jorhat Service centre and as they don't have so much facility in their centre, they asked me to do in a nearby gridge/ac repairing centre.After filling lower amount of gas they tried to whether it is working or not. Hence they drive the car few KM. It is cooling. Later they tried ti fll some more amount of gas to the desired level. While doing so the high pressure line burst out. Later on I find that the high pressure line is is rubbing with the radiator. Later on the radiator was put in proper place and the distance is maintained. Later I tool the car t dealer, they replaced the high pressure line and tried to put gas to the system.
Later they inform me that compressor is not working. Presently I am settled at Jorhat where recently a service centre open. I took my car to them. They also unable to do it properly. i feel they do;t have proper tools to check the systems.
Tell me what to do . I can not believe that compressor could go wrong.Please help me out in this case.

Replacement of defective Diesel Engine & Radiator
Dear Sir,
Influenced by the tall claims of your company and impressed by the CHEVOLET tag we decided to buy your Beat Diesel Model Car. We purchased the car from your authorized Dealer M/s Shiva Motors Sahibabad, District Ghaziabad vide their Invoice No. R00277 dated 05/08/2011 bearing the following details:
CHASSIS NO. MA 6 BFBFNBBT061440
ENGINE NO. 10AB5Z[protected]
For almost one year the car gave satisfactory service but after one year the car engine started giving trouble. we kept on pointing out the defects to your authorized service station M/s Shiva Motors but they kept on assuring us that there is no defect in the engine and that the nature of defects being pointed out to them are common in Diesel Engines and with the time the engine would settle down and kept on providing cosmetic adjustments just to probably complete the warranty period. It was only when the oil leakage increased and the Radiator also developed leakages did we realize that the company was taking us for a ride. We went to Shiva Motors to get it rectified we were informed that one oil pipe and the radiator base needs replacement & both are not covered under warranty. We were shocked to know that such a vital part of the engine on which the whole life of the engine depends is plastic based. Sir, such important information is not reveled anywhere in your booklet nor the literature being provided by you to the customer which amounts to cheating. Finally after a lot of discussion they accepted to rectify the defects and the car were handed over to the workshop on[protected]
We were informed that radiator has been arranged but for the oil pipe has to procured from pune plant and since the replacements have been ordered with the company the car shall take some time before it can be delivered back to us. On inquiry after almost one week when there was no call from Siva Motors when we called them only then we were informed that the oil pipe has yet not arrived but the radiator base is available & since there is not much leakage the car can be used even without its replacement for some more time. We were told that since for replacing the pipe the radiator also has to be opened. When oil pipe will be replaced at same time radiator will also be changed simultaneously both defects will be rectified together.
On their assurance that since there is not much leakage & Radiator will be replaced along with oil pipe on receipt of the same from the company, we took the delivery of the vehicle. After almost two weeks when we did not receive any call from the Shiva Motors & while driving the same we noticed that the car was getting heated up, We took the car back to M/s Shiva Motors & told them to rectify the defects again, We were surprised by the answer that they forget to procure the part from the company because of which they did not call us.
After almost one week we received the vehicle from the Shiva Motors after paying Rs7588/- for the Radiator.
After driving the vehicle for almost[protected] kms the vehicle again started heating up. We again took the vehicle to Shiva Motors who later informed us that the water and oil in the engine is getting mixed up and that the engine needs overhauling for which they gave us an estimate of approximately one lac. They again informed us that such repairs are not covered under the warranty given by the company and for any further discussion on the subject we should approach the company.
We would like to be informed on following counts
1. What is the meaning of warranty as far as your car goes?
2. What are parts not covered under warranty & why they have not been highlighted in your pamphlets or service book.
3. Why your authorized service station could not detect the faults at the first instant?
4. Why your workshop do not have adequate stocks of spare parts to rectify the defects as & when they are deducted.
5. What are the parts which are specially covered under the warranty?
6. Why your service station did give the car to customer without changing the radiator?
We would request you to kindly look into matter as we feel your workshop has goofed up somewhere and could not detect the faults in time because of which we are in the present situation. We would also wish to point out that the company cannot wriggle out its responsibility towards its customers on such flimsy grounds.
We also wish to point out that if in case we do not hear from you within one week of date of this letter we shall have no alternate but to go to consumer court to force you for your warranty obligation.
We hope the matter shall receive your very urgent attention and you shall replace the defective parts immediately.

POOR PERFORMANCE OF OPEL CORSA SAIL 1.6

Dear Sir,
This is to inform you that I had purchased an OPEL CORSA SAIL 1.6 from
British Motors,Connaught Place,New Delhi in the month of Feb'2005 in
the name of Sunil Dave vide registration no:DL2CAB1104 with an
extended warranty.
The vehicle was bought keeping in mind the Brand name and the myth
that it's a German vehicle which will serve trouble free for years
together whereas the vehicle had become a White Elephant ever since it
was bought.
The vehicle had gone to British Motors initially for one or two
service and there after the company got closed and the fate of the
vehicle started from that day itself.During these two services itself
the Head Light ON/OFF switch became faulty and it was replaced during
the warranty.
Having no options but to approach a new service center I approached
M/S.Shiva Motors at Sec-11,Noida (UP) since it was in East Delhi.The
vehicle has always been given to Shiva Motors for service /
maintenance ever since the British Motors got closed.
The story didn't end here...............
The vehicle started giving one or the other problem every now and then
and every time your authorized service dealer charged me a hefty
amount for changing the required part.
You will amazed to know that the total mileage of the vehicle as of
today is just 58,000 Kms whereas I have paid Rs.66,000/- as of now to
Shiva Motors for repairs and maintenance which is almost Rs.1.15 Paise
per KM as maintenance cost.
The history of the vehicle shall reveal you that almost all major
parts have been changed by Shiva Motors over these years and irony is
that one problem gets sorted another starts.
Recently in the month of Feb'2012 the vehicle had gone to them as "
Yellow Light" started showing on the panel and it was diagnosed by
them that the Alternator had become faulty. The changed the alternator
and cleaned the Injectors and charged me again a Hefty amount.
Once the vehicle was handed over to me on the same day I complained to
their supervisor Mr.Narinder Kumar that the the vehicle was missing
while driving. I requested Shiva Motors to depute some person at my
residence and get the fault rectified. Promises were made that it
would be attended in a day or so but REGRET NO BODY TURNED UP TO
ATTEND THE PROBLEM.
As I was having another vehicle FORD ICON with me hence I was movable
at least,otherwise had I been dependent on them my work would have
suffered. In between I drove Opel Corsa Sail as well so that at least
it should be in running condition at least.
Couple of days back I drove the vehicle to their workshop and showed
them that the RPM of the vehicle had gone down.The person concerned
checked the RPM and tuned it once again but was not sure whether the
problem has been sorted out or not ?
And there he was right. The vehicle started giving the same problem
while I was driving back home.
I had no option but to park the vehicle and decide about the fate of
the vehicle. On 25th of May 2012, I decided to give the vehicle once
again to Shiva Motors for the fixing the problem and requested them to
pick the vehicle from my residence.The vehicle got picked on 28th May
2012.
Once the vehicle reached the workshop I got a call and that the DST of
the vehicle has become faulty and it would cost me Rs.18,000/-. On
inquiry whether the RPM would be OK there after, I was informed that
they will diagnose the problem and let me know.
The final estimate of repairs is still yet to receive from them.
I being the customer of GM would like to put you a question that why
this vehicle was introduced in India when it was supposed to be
withdrawn at a short interval from the market ?
The so called authorized dealers of GM are showing their high
handedness and charging customers hefty amount to maintain the
vehicles.The vehicle's parts are failing one after the other with the
time. It seems that irrespective whether has been driven or not the
parts are time bound and shall worn out on its own.
This is also to be noted that on demanding the complete maintenance
history of the vehicle from Shiva Motors they showed their inability
to do so and informed that the history of each vehicle is with GM.
Since the vehicle history is with you, you are requested to kindly go
thru the same and see how the vehicle behaved over the years which
would be self explanatory about the performance of the vehicle.
Lastly I would like to ask you what should I do with this vehicle as
the vehicle is still lying with Shiva Motors ?

Thank you for replying the mail whereas I am extremely sorry for a
delayed acknowledgement as I was out station and just arrived
yesterday night only.
The service manager Mr.Rajeev did get in touch with me and appraised
me with the parts which needs to be changed according to them.You will
be shocked to know that apart from the DIS he needs to change the
Silencer Muffler/Radiator Fan/Radiator-Likely to be choked
shortly/Gear Linkage/Suspension & the Battery.
Don't you agree that so many parts needs to change whereas the vehicle
has not been used the way it should have been ?
Is there any thing wrong with the workmanship of Shiva Motors or the
vehicle itself ? You need to identify the problem and come with the
solution else I would be forced to get this published in the Media and
sue the company in the consumer court.
Please be informed that paying out of my pocket is just impossible.
You are requested to kindly pay a visit to Shiva Motors and resolve
this issue ASAP.
I also request you to kindly share your contact number or call me for
a further discussion on the matter apart from replying this mail.
I would be again travelling from tomorrow onwards and shall be back on

This is to inform you that I had purchased an OPEL CORSA SAIL 1.6 from
British Motors,Connaught Place,New Delhi in the month of Feb'2005 in
the name of Sunil Dave vide registration no:DL2CAB1104 with an
extended warranty.
The vehicle was bought keeping in mind the Brand name and the myth
that it's a German vehicle which will serve trouble free for years
together whereas the vehicle had become a White Elephant ever since it
was bought.
The vehicle had gone to British Motors initially for one or two
service and there after the company got closed and the fate of the
vehicle started from that day itself.During these two services itself
the Head Light ON/OFF switch became faulty and it was replaced during
the warranty.
Having no options but to approach a new service center I approached
M/S.Shiva Motors at Sec-11,Noida (UP) since it was in East Delhi.The
vehicle has always been given to Shiva Motors for service /
maintenance ever since the British Motors got closed.
The story didn't end here...............
The vehicle started giving one or the other problem every now and then
and every time your authorized service dealer charged me a hefty
amount for changing the required part.
You will amazed to know that the total mileage of the vehicle as of
today is just 58,000 Kms whereas I have paid Rs.66,000/- as of now to
Shiva Motors for repairs and maintenance which is almost Rs.1.15 Paise
per KM as maintenance cost.
The history of the vehicle shall reveal you that almost all major
parts have been changed by Shiva Motors over these years and irony is
that one problem gets sorted another starts.
Recently in the month of Feb'2012 the vehicle had gone to them as "
Yellow Light" started showing on the panel and it was diagnosed by
them that the Alternator had become faulty. The changed the alternator
and cleaned the Injectors and charged me again a Hefty amount.
Once the vehicle was handed over to me on the same day I complained to
their supervisor Mr.Narinder Kumar that the the vehicle was missing
while driving. I requested Shiva Motors to depute some person at my
residence and get the fault rectified. Promises were made that it
would be attended in a day or so but REGRET NO BODY TURNED UP TO
ATTEND THE PROBLEM.
As I was having another vehicle FORD ICON with me hence I was movable
at least,otherwise had I been dependent on them my work would have
suffered. In between I drove Opel Corsa Sail as well so that at least
it should be in running condition at least.
Couple of days back I drove the vehicle to their workshop and showed
them that the RPM of the vehicle had gone down.The person concerned
checked the RPM and tuned it once again but was not sure whether the
problem has been sorted out or not ?
And there he was right. The vehicle started giving the same problem
while I was driving back home.
I had no option but to park the vehicle and decide about the fate of
the vehicle. On 25th of May 2012, I decided to give the vehicle once
again to Shiva Motors for the fixing the problem and requested them to
pick the vehicle from my residence.The vehicle got picked on 28th May
2012.
Once the vehicle reached the workshop I got a call and that the DST of
the vehicle has become faulty and it would cost me Rs.18,000/-. On
inquiry whether the RPM would be OK there after, I was informed that
they will diagnose the problem and let me know.
The final estimate of repairs is still yet to receive from them.
I being the customer of GM would like to put you a question that why
this vehicle was introduced in India when it was supposed to be
withdrawn at a short interval from the market ?
The so called authorized dealers of GM are showing their high
handedness and charging customers hefty amount to maintain the
vehicles.The vehicle's parts are failing one after the other with the
time. It seems that irrespective whether has been driven or not the
parts are time bound and shall worn out on its own.
This is also to be noted that on demanding the complete maintenance
history of the vehicle from Shiva Motors they showed their inability
to do so and informed that the history of each vehicle is with GM.
Since the vehicle history is with you, you are requested to kindly go
thru the same and see how the vehicle behaved over the years which
would be self explanatory about the performance of the vehicle.
Lastly I would like to ask you what should I do with this vehicle as
the vehicle is still lying with Shiva Motors ?

Thank you for replying the mail whereas I am extremely sorry for a
delayed acknowledgement as I was out station and just arrived
yesterday night only.
The service manager Mr.Rajeev did get in touch with me and appraised
me with the parts which needs to be changed according to them.You will
be shocked to know that apart from the DIS he needs to change the
Silencer Muffler/Radiator Fan/Radiator-Likely to be choked
shortly/Gear Linkage/Suspension & the Battery.
Don't you agree that so many parts needs to change whereas the vehicle
has not been used the way it should have been ?
Is there any thing wrong with the workmanship of Shiva Motors or the
vehicle itself ? You need to identify the problem and come with the
solution else I would be forced to get this published in the Media and
sue the company in the consumer court.
Please be informed that paying out of my pocket is just impossible.
You are requested to kindly pay a visit to Shiva Motors and resolve
this issue ASAP.
I also request you to kindly share your contact number or call me for
a further discussion on the matter apart from replying this mail.

Loss of Car ( Chevrolet Cruze ) key during 3rd service of

Company lost the car key during service of Chervorlet cruze, Now it allmost 7 days no satisfactory response received. Sr. General Manager is not responding to phone call & mails.
Complainst registered at Call centre, Complaint number given but no feedback / courtesy call.

failure to provide after sales services

Good Day Sir,
With deep concern and regret i would like to draw your attention towards the facts as below-
1) I had given my car for repairs to GM's local dealer at Lucknow m/s Megha auto dealers on 19/05/2011 as my car had suffered some minor damages,after handing over the car to their body shop at Kursi Road Lucknow,i had asked them to give me the estimated cost of repairs on pretext of business they told me that they will inform me over phone once it is ready which they never did.
2) I was expecting them to inform me once the insurance survey will be over,which was never done.
3) After discovering from my insurer that my claim approval was done and the survey was successfully carried out on very same day even the concerned surveyor has informed me that he had great difficulty in obtaining the estimate of repairs from the dealer.
4)After the survey was over i tried to contact them several times just to know when my car will be ready to deliver but no satisfactory answer was given .
5) After my great persuasion i came to know that i will have my car delivered on 24/05/11 .Again i contacted them at about 11:30 AM and they replied that it is ready but on reaching there it was discovered that car was not ready at all.I had to wait whole day until 5:30 PM to get delivery of my car.At the time of delivery on the pretext of workshop getting closed i was handed over the car without any trial ,on reaching home to my surprise i found the fog lamp and horn not working ,and further to my discovery vehicle never started thereafter(not taking self).When i had handed over the car to them for repairs i had no history of any ignition problem.I suspect that my car's battery has been misused/changed while the car was in their custody.
All the above concerns and problems had been brought to their notice several times including the registration of complaint to your call center but a remedial action from the dealer's end is still awaited they have now even stopped picking up the phone and non communicative as usual,and my car remains immobilized till date .
To sum up i request you to kindly look into the matter and do the needful at earliest to save me and my family from undue agony and harassment being imposed on us for no fault of ours.

Problem in the Car's Engine

Our Company owns a Chevrolet Captiva car, 2008 Model, we have bought this car from Chevrolet Dealer in Chandigarh considering that GM cars are considered fuel consuming but are made for safety and reliability. In past also we have used GM cars like Opel Astra, Corsa etc. The service cost has always been high even after sales service has been bad but never mind the cars have always been performing well so we never thought about these things.
But now the situation has reversed and the new situation in front o[censored]s is that as per the dealer, the 2008 model Captivas have a problem in their engines and I was facing the same problem, my car engine’s head Gasket was changed after doing 48000 Kms. we were shocked when this happened. Even then we never complained about it but now again after doing 14000 Kms, the car has been facing same problem and it needs an overhaul again. The dealer says that after getting the engine overhauled again he can guarantee for 20000 kms. only. As per the experience till date it looks that the situation would be the same after 15000 kms. How can you expect the customer to keep spending money on engine repairs so frequently. All services, etc. have been done in scheduled times and at DEALER ONLY.
The dealer in Chandigarh from where I have bought this car is saying that nothing can be done about it ,all you can do is sell the car and let the next buyer suffer the problem or keep getting the engine overhauled as all the cars of 2008 have similar problem(some problem with head). Two of chandigarh customers we met sold their cars a year back because of the same problem. Now after realizing that everyone who has bought the car in 2008 is facing the same problem and company is not paying any attention towards it, we feel like cheated. The problem is occurring because of some manufacturing defects and the users are not at fault. I think in such a situation company should upkeep its responsibility and come in front to solve this problem. Worldwide companies like Toyota etc. have always come openly and accepted if they have found faults with their vehicles.
So at last I would like to request you to kindly look into the problem and find some solution for the same. As like this we will not be in position to keep this vehicle and our company will also not pay for the engine overhaul again and again. Selling the car is also not possible as the resale of Chevrolet cars is very less.

Rusting of car doors
I bought Chevrolet Aveo in 2006 Nov and now I am facing the problem of all 4 doors getting rusted. When I contacted the dealer (Kropex India) located on Hosur road they directed to GM and GM directs me to Kropex and finally they came up with a great suggestion that if I bear the cost of the parts which is 46K they would bear the cost of paiting which is 16K and rectify my problem which I way too much. I am not sure how do I go about taking this forward hence I am submitting it here.

Poor Mileage

I had purchased a Chevrolet spark car because the company stated that it gave a mileage of 18 kms/ltr. When I started driving the car I realized the the company had misguided Me., because the car gave only 10-11 kms in city and 13-14 kms on expressways. I complained to the company and they would reply that the way I drive was the result for the low mileage. After many complaints GM told me to take a mileage test drive at their authorized service station at my own cost.( I had to pay for the fuel) The car was driven by the service center driver and we went early in the morning on a 60 kms drive, and the car still gave a mileage of 14 Kms. Inspite of numerous written and email complaints to the company, they have refused to give me the reason for the discrepancy between the actual mileage and the printed mileage on the brochure. I want to take the company to the consumer court. Could you pls. guide me on the same?

Destruction of Engine by Authorized Dealer Workshop

My engine was destroyed in a delibrate action by Mechanic Dilbagh Singh on 22/07/2010 because I had complained about him to General Motors and S.V.Motors regarding his attempt to sabotage my vehicle earlier also to which the Works Manager Naresh Narang had excused and told me to bring the vehicle on his request.
The excue given by Works Manager Naresh Narang and Dilbagh Singh was that the spark plugs had broken and fallen into the engine, I have refused to take possession of the vehicle.
This is the complaint that I had written to General Motors earlier when the Works Manager was some called Mr. Sharma:

I am an owner of a Chevrolet vehicle V.I.N. NO. MA6NF198T3H-380274 Registration Number PB02 AP 9181, I had taken my vehicle to the workshop of S.V. Motors at Amritsar for the replacement of my resonator and it was told to me by their workshop engineers including the service manager Mr. Sharma that my engine had lasted its life and that it had engine blow.
They told me that since General Motors does not make piston rings I shall have to replace my entire engine block and that it will cost me around Rs. 80,000 for replacing the entire engine block.
Sensing foul play I took my vehicle to Padam Motors, Ludhiana where they checked my engine compression and assured me that my engine was in perfect condition, they also told me that my vehicle had run just 59,000 KMS and could go on for other 440,000 KMS.
It is a shame on General Motors part to make SV Motors, Amritsar a dealer for selling their vehicles and for giving them the right to loot and cheat General Motors Vehicle Owners when they come to their workshop, I write with regret but with assurance that SV Motrs , Amritsar shall make it absolute to give General Motors a bad name, a cheater's name in the minds and hearts of all General Motors Vehicle Owners who take their vehicle to the workshop of SV Motors , Amritsar.
Since I want to buy Chevrolet Cruze I shall buy that vehicle but not from SV Motors, Amritsar because they indulge in corrupt business practices.
I have reported this issue to General Motors because these cheats might to fleece more people and hence your company should take notice of the problem, that is if your own people are not hand in glove with the cheats who represent General Motors in Amritsar.

The excue given by Works Manager Naresh Narang and Dilbagh Singh was that the spark plugs had broken and fallen into the engine, I have refused to take possession of the vehicle.
This is the complaint that I had written to General Motors earlier when the Works Manager was some called Mr. Sharma:

I am an owner of a Chevrolet vehicle V.I.N. NO. MA6NF198T3H-380274 Registration Number PB02 AP 9181, I had taken my vehicle to the workshop of S.V. Motors at Amritsar for the replacement of my resonator and it was told to me by their workshop engineers including the service manager Mr. Sharma that my engine had lasted its life and that it had engine blow.
They told me that since General Motors does not make piston rings I shall have to replace my entire engine block and that it will cost me around Rs. 80,000 for replacing the entire engine block.
Sensing foul play I took my vehicle to Padam Motors, Ludhiana where they checked my engine compression and assured me that my engine was in perfect condition, they also told me that my vehicle had run just 59,000 KMS and could go on for other 440,000 KMS.
It is a shame on General Motors part to make SV Motors, Amritsar a dealer for selling their vehicles and for giving them the right to loot and cheat General Motors Vehicle Owners when they come to their workshop, I write with regret but with assurance that SV Motrs , Amritsar shall make it absolute to give General Motors a bad name, a cheater's name in the minds and hearts of all General Motors Vehicle Owners who take their vehicle to the workshop of SV Motors , Amritsar.
Since I want to buy Chevrolet Cruze I shall buy that vehicle but not from SV Motors, Amritsar because they indulge in corrupt business practices.
I have reported this issue to General Motors because these cheats might to fleece more people and hence your company should take notice of the problem, that is if your own people are not hand in glove with the cheats who represent General Motors in Amritsar.

Defective Parts in New Captiva Car Purchased from Shiva Motors, Ghaziabad

Dear Sir,
With reference to subject, we hereby inform you that we purchased a new captiva car from your distributor Shiva Motors, Ghaziabad. It seems that its parts are made of inferior quality as the same get out of order very frequently. The frequent major problems apart from others are as follows:
1. Gear Problem,
2. Belt Problem,
3. Oil Leakage Problem
In addition, once the car is sent for repair it takes 15 days to replace the part of the car. We have frequently asked verbally Mr. Praveen Ji of Shiva Motors, Ghaziabad & Vardajyoti Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., Meerut that why so much delay is being undertaken in replacing the damaged part. He always says that it is being done, we are making proper follow-up and all that.
Sorry to say, but we request you to please take the Captiva Car back and refund a sum of Rs.20,05,317.00 (Rs.19,24,269.00 purchase price & Rs.81,048.00 repair cost) immediately. In case you don’t refund the abovementioned money, then we have no other option but to go in Consumer Forum to get the compensation for purchase price of car, repair & maintenance cost and loss on account of mental disturbance.

Chevrolet Spark Service

Hi,
I had my car picked for Service from my house by M/S Frontline Sales and Service ( Dealer for General Motors). The service advisor calls me and tells me the estimate for Service would be around Rs.3000/- and i was ok with it. My bumpers ( Front and back) had damages on it and hence i asked him the estimate for it and whether i could get Insurance claimed. the person tells me the estimate to be around Rs.17500 for changing the bumpers and body coloring it and tinkering the bonet and also advices me not to go for insurance as i would lose No Claim Bonus. I told him that since the estimate is expensive and the same job done at a common mechanic would not cost more than Rs.10000/- the person said that he would get it done at a lesser cost ( not specifying the price).
After the work i get a call from the service center that the car is ready and when i went to pick up the car i was surprised to see that none were aware of the discount committed and the person who had spoken to me was on leave. Then the Service Manager ( PRAVEEN) tells me that he would speak to the person and get back. Later i am told the breakup of the charges
Service : 3300+
Labour : 10550+ ( Rs.900 discount was given on this)
Parts : 6300+
I countered them stating that the discount given was not upto mark and then asked them on what basis was the labour cost charged and needed the breakup.
Praveen tells me that the Labour charges are determined by the pricing of Cheverolet and then i asked him for the Labour charges list of Cheverolet. They got me the list and he showed me the calculation using the sheet and the labour charges according to the Tariff came to Rs.12500/-. Immediately i asked him the basis of Rs.10500/- when Tariff states to Rs.12500/- and he starts to defend that this is a dealer margin that was offloaded and becomes aggressive when i still state that i want the breakup for Rs.10500/- and states that he is not interested in giving the breakup.
Meanwhile there are 4 more people from the dealership around us and the time is around 8PM . A person called Thimmaiah( not sure) interevenes and tries again to justify. Then i asked for escalation matrix which i was refused. Then i saw a board in which the Customer Care Manager Number was displayed and was about to call when a person ( part of the group listening to the conversation for past 1 hour) states that he is the customer care manager( Alosysius)
Later they state that since the service advisor was the person who had committed , they would like to resolve the issue in front of him once he is back the nextday. I only asked them to take him on a phone call and put him on the loud speaker for which these people refused.
Am shocked by the service and the way my queries were clarified and arrogance of the Service Manager too..

Lousy Customer Service
I am pasting below the entire chain of mails that I have sent ot General Motor Corporation and to their regional sales manager, but no one has ever bothered to call me, even though their auto reply does say that someone will get back. Ganesh Rasal has never bothered to call me, and Vineet at the SC Auto Service Center, had promised me a call back way back in January, but I am still waiting, he has never bothered to call me back either.

I don't think that people have gauged the gravity of the issue, as no one has bothered to get back to me. I have followed up with people on multiple occasions, but every time I get promised a call back, and no one ever gets back to me.
So, I have now given up on General Motors customer service and also on the dealership to fight my case with the company. So, since I am on my own, I am thinking of taking help from the media to see if I can get someone to pay attention to customers.

Hi Ganesh,
When I send a mail as a customer with a concern I expect a response and also for someone to get back to me, especially so if you are from a company who really cares about customer satisfaction.
The lack of response from you or the customer service really does not speak very highly about GM Customer service. As, for the customer service department, sending an automated response followed by someone, sending a pre-formatted text copied and pasted straight out of a template, and no one following up on it is only depicts a callous attitude.
I know that the issue with my car is the first of its kind in a Chevy Spark, but then it is still a serious issue, and someone has to take it seriously, unless GM really does not care about losing customers.
This time I not only expect a response from you guys, but I also would like an email/contact for someone higher up in GM India where I can escalate the matter, while I get the point of contact at a GM Global, for whoever is in charge of the ASIAPAC region, and I can find it as I work for JP Morgan, and we always have a list of contact people in our corporate database.

Hi,
I had recently got a repair work done on my new Chevy Spark, after it got banged by a bus from behind.
The boot lid, left filler panel and left tail light assembly were replaced and along with that a list of sealants. But, ever since I got the car back form repairs I have been noticing a slight rattling sound from the boot, which kept on increasing with each passing day. I got my car back from the initial repairs on the 3rd of January, and now I have sent it back to SC Auto, Thane West, on Monday, 11th January.
The current issues:
1. Rattling noise from the boot, and boot lock.
2. Incorrect aligned of the boot lid.
3. Wide gaps, far more than the standard gaps, around the left tail
light; and also between the rear windscreen and the side body panel. I checked the clearance on a standard Spark and it was not more than 5mm, but in my car, not only is it more than 5mm, but it keeps on increasing as you descend from the top of the windscreen.
Request you to please have one of your engineers look into the matter. My car has spent more time in the workshop since I bought it last month than with me. The first thing that happened was that the entire starter kit burnt out on the very first day that I got my car, and it was at the workshop for about 2 days. Then a week down the line, a bus banged it from behind in standing traffic, and it was back at the workshop for another 20 days. The registration number of my car is MH-04-ED-5154.

General Motors — HARRASMENT BY DEALER SHIVA MOTORS
I PURHASED A CAR AVEO 1.4 OF GM MOTORS THRU SHIVA MOTORS, NOIDA. BEFORE MAKING PAYMENTS THE CAR PRICE AND DISCOUNTS FINALISED AND FIXED. THE SAME WAS CONFIRMEN IN WRITING BY SALES EXECUTIVE THAT THE PRICE AGREED IS FIXED AND NO CHANGE WILL BE THERE TILL DELIVERY OF CAR. I PAID THE FULL AMOUNT ABUOT 3 DAYS BEFORE DELIVERY DATE.WHEN I VISITED SHOWROOM FOR DELIVERY OF MY CAR, THE SALES EXECUTIVE DEMANDED RS 2500/- EXTRA AND SAID IF I DO NOT PAY THIS AMOUNT REGISTRATION OF MY CAR WILL BE WITHHELD . IN SUCH A SITUATION I WAS FORCED TO PAY RS 2500/-ADDITIONAL IN ADDITION TO AGREED. INSPITE OF MAKING THIS ADDITIONNAL CHARGE, I WAS HANDED OVER THE REGISTRATION PAYMENT SLIP AFTER 10 DAYS AND THE AMOUNT PAID TO THE TRANSPORT AUTHORITY WAS ABOUT RS 4000/-LEWSS THAN AMOUNT CHARGED.THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO THE COMPLINT TO SR SALES OFFICIALS OF SHIVA MOTORS, NOIDA

General Motors — Defective Tyres
Sub:- Aveo UVA DL 9CT0903I had purchased a Aveo UVA Car from M/s Metro cheverlot Vasant Vihar New Delhi on Oct’2008. The car was provided Tubeless Tyres of Goodyear make. Recently I noticed that there is some problem in the rear tyre, and when I got checked the tyres I was shocked to hear that the new tyres starts bulging. The same was the conditions of all the four tyres. The car has just done 2400Kms till date and the tyres become defective so early.
I took the car to M/s Metro cheverlot from where I purchased the car on 11/07/2009. Shri Anil Sikka, Asstt Service Manager inspected the conditions of the tyres and he was also satisfied that there is problems in all the four tyres. He told me that there engineer will inspect the tyres and asked me to contact next day as 11/07/2009 was Sunday. On 13/07/2009 I again contacted Shri Anil Kumar Sikka and I got the reply that the tyres company will inspect the tyres!!!. He told me that they had contacted Goodyear Local Office at New Delhi and they fixed the appointment for inspection only for 16/07/2009 but he did not told me the exact time when the car will be inspected.
My question is as I had purchased the Car from General Motors, then it is the responsibility of the car company to get the tyres replaced at once.
As such I request your good self to kindly take my problem on top priority and get the tyres replaced urgently as it is very dangerous to drive the vehicle with such types of tyre as they can burst at any time resulting mishappening to me or to my family members

Tyre Noise increased with time and grunting nose from 2 tyres, I was informed that all 4 tyres are bad.
The make of the tyres causing the problem is goodyear eagles. I believe that GM changed the tyres from goodyear to bridgestones after 2007.
My Car has done 30000 Kms now, but the problem appeared on 15000 Kms.

I purchased a 2009 GMC Seria pick up Hybrid 6.0
they advertise 22average miles per gallon city. I can`t get 17 MPG. I have had it to dealers and they have not been able to improve milage. I bought it thinking I would average at least 20. I drive 5 miles to work at average 40 mph.

I have to agree with Anup. I am sure this is 100% correct as I am facing similar issue. I was having issue with SC Auto corp Thane (where they charged me more money -Approx 8000 Rs) which they are not able to justify properly). I had written the complain long back to gmi and kept following up till 2 month back. Every time I got the false promise that we will get back to you.. but it never happend... I have given up the hope now...

I had a very bad experience from SC Auto.
I sent my spark for repair after it was hit from front to SC Auto.
The Front Right Side was damaged but not ruptured.
Still SC Auto took exact 2 months i.e. 60 days to repair.
Always I have to Contact them for the status of the car.
When one month was over One of the Service Advisor Mr Abbas was giving me false information that he will deliver my car within a week. I was literally Pissed off by him as he was not even ready to pick up my phone on his cell. Also I tried to contact at his office but he was not ready to take the call saying he is in meeting.
When i visited the workshop he gave me the reason that the Axle is damage and Chevrolet is out of stock. Finally I contacted at the head office of GM from where I got the no. of VP of Sales& Service of this region. Even after contacting him I have to keep a personal follow up with the SC Auto . And finally I got my car back after 2weeks after having chat with VP of Western Region.
In fact because of this poor service of Chevrolet I will recommend every one not to go for any of the Chevrolet Car and even if you go for it unfortunately avoid SC Auto of Thane.
Its my humble request to all of you .. please please please dont chose SC Auto .

I had a very bad experience from SC Auto.
I sent my spark for repair after it was hit from front to SC Auto.
The Front Right Side was damaged but not ruptured.
Still SC Auto took exact 2 months i.e. 60 days to repair.
Always I have to Contact them for the status of the car.
When one month was over One of the Service Advisor Mr Abbas was giving me false information that he will deliver my car within a week. I was literally Pissed off by him as he was not even ready to pick up my phone on his cell. Also I tried to contact at his office but he was not ready to take the call saying he is in meeting.
When i visited the workshop he gave me the reason that the Axle is damage and Chevrolet is out of stock. Dear All, I am in full agreement with the quality o[censored]nprofessionalism prevailing in General Motors and my experience has been with Ashtavinayak Auto. I was quite fortunate enough to have experienced much before even I visit their Dealer's office in Mumbai. More surprising fact is that despite receiving instruction from the Corporate Office of General Motors, neither the dealer and most surprising nor Mr Ganesh Rasal has bothered to call the customer. I would like to Introduce myself BASKAR from Chennai India.
I purchased a chevrolet cruze AT in India just 3 month back i.e in the month of FEB 2012 from the second day itself i am facing repeated complaint with the AC and in this regard I sent my car to dealer point many times and still they cannot able to rectify it.
But I understand it is because of faulty part of AC CONDENSER but since the car is just 3 months old and moreover the part is replaceable under warrantee but the dealer is hesitating in this regard and I sent various mails and reminders to GENERAL MOTORS INDIA but so far no reply from General Motors India this indicates their kind of service providing their customers.
I have full track record in this regard but still fighting with GM to get the rectification.
I am attaching herewith the photo of defective AC Condenser photo in leaking condition.
Any body suggest action required from my end further would help me to proceed further.

Poor quality of GM vehicles
I (unfortunately) own a Chevrolet Optra car. There have been a lot of problems since the very beginning. Within a year of purchase the fuel gauge, accelerator sensor, headlight lamps, engine mount and the ECM had failed.
The body also started rusting within 1.5 years. GM refuses to acknowledge that the sheet quality is poor and do something about this inspite of talking to the service managers.
GM is also being extremely irresponsible in not rectifying known problems with critical components such as brakes. It is well known that their brakes (especially for models such as AVEO) are defective. The brake lining comes off the break shoe and damages the brake drums. GM has neither included inspection of break shoes in the service routine nor recalled and replaced the break shoes.
GM has double standards, if such a problem had happenned in the US they would be running to rectify.
I would strongly recomend you not buy a GM vehicle in India, Theie vehicles are poor quality with no resale value. (Nov 2004 Optra 1.8 L done 55000 km has resale value of only Rs 1.1 Lacs). This is reflective of the quality of vehicles and support provided by GM.

we have a Optra from the last 5 years. we have done all services to M/s Regent Automobiles only. from the last 2 years we are facing coolent problem but that company is not solving our problem but earning money.
at every visit they charge something but still our problem keeps same.
4 months back we paid 36000 rs for the Head repaing and they told us that now your car is fine but after 4 months same problem come out and again they are demanding for 25000 rs more. so we are requesting you please solve our problem. we will be very thankfull for you.

Stay Away from them Service sucks and no Parts Available
Hi Everyone
My vehicle is now at Kropex, One of GM's new dealers in Bangalore, I gave the vehicle to get the alloy wheels, knuckle arm and bearing to be replaced. The vehicle was delivered on the 4th of May, 2009. And today is the 15th of May, 2009. My vehicle is not yet ready. And I have lost the trust in getting the vehicle on time according to my needs and requirements. PLEASE think twice of this. You buy a vehicle and you're unable to use it especially after paying huge amount for luxury and comfort. You're not even given another car nor an alternative for basic requirements and moreover your plans and time being ruined due to wrong commitments. There is no pro-active cutomer service from their end, it's rather passive. I have to call them every day...the after sales manager here had given them the option of giving me another car till i get the my car on road, however the dealer does not wanna give a car. Don't know why. Overall I'm very disappointed. Not only this i have a vehicle history sheet from the dealer where i bought this car from which actually shows that RS. 1, 77, 000 parts worth have been changed on my vehicle. Anyways. That is good one way that i have the data with me, but see from another angle a new car, so many negative experiences. Even if I'd to change a lot of parts and i had to take the vehicle for service many times it would not have been a problem if they'd taken good care of me, considering the end user's family needs etc and providing excellent service. They should first know for what do people buy B segment cars for private use...I have nothing more to say as it's getting hopeless day by day...rather they are not bothered. Stay Away if there is a compaint for the car then your time, money and peace of mind is royally screwed. It's publics choice now. There is no goodness
