This is regarding a senior doctor, practicing at the kaushalya hospital, mr. Makrand deolalikar. According to me, experienced doctors are humble, soft - spoken, sensitive and caring towards their patients. For them, all their patients hold an important position, irrespective of their financial status. But mr. Makrand deolalikar is nowhere even close to being nice to his patients. He is a very rude, insensitive and arrogant person.
My father was being treated by him for diabetes. We needed a good doctor who could help us to bring his blood sugar levels under control, at the earliest, as he was to be operated for his catract. He had also suffered a heart attack a few years ago and was taking medicines for the same. Dr. Makrand wanted my father to get his heart check up done by dr. Kumbla (He was my father's cardiologist previously). We told him we cannot afford dr. Kumbla's treatment any more as his charges are too high, we asked him to suggest any doctor who can treat him at reasonable charges, on hearing this, dr. Deolalikar got very upset and spoke to us in an inappropriate manner. He said, "if you can't afford such doctors, don't complain about your illhealth then."
He wasn't even ready to give my father a proper diet chart. He was totally disinterested in answering our questions. I feel he has an air about himself being an md but i would like to bring to his notice that we have better doctors than him in thane who are way better than him in all aspects.
My request is doctors like mr. Makrand deolalikar should be given some training on soft skills. He should become a good person first and then boast about himself.
We have had a very bad experience at kaushalya hospital. My request to the ones who are reading this is please do not approach dr. Deolalikar, he won't listen to your problems but talk only about what he feels is right.

    Dear Sirs / Madam,

I was hospitalised on December 4, 2009 at 07:30 pm at Kaushalya Medical Foundation Trust Hospital, Thane. Let me just run you through the experience one by one.

I am suffering from Sinusitis and under the examination of Dr. Jyotsna Jagtap for the last 4 years.
Dr. Jagtap had advised me to go for a surgery for the polyps removal.
I got my Mediclaim form filled up through her and submitted the same to KMFT on Thursday, 03-Dec-2009.
Thursday evening Dr. Manisha coordinator from Kaushalya Hospital (KMFT) with TPA called me and informed me that TPA viz. UHC (United Healthcare) were asking for preliminary test reports to approve the cashless Mediclaim.
Since I had not carried out any test I asked her to let go off the mediclaim and told her that I would go without the mediclaim and pay on my own and carry out the surgery. I shall put the claim back post hospitalization.
Friday, December 4, 2009 when I entered the casualty and completed the formalities for admission by paying Rs.10,000/- as deposit for first class Non ac admission.
When I was taken to the 5th floor, I was directed to the 2nd class twin bed room.
On clarifying the same with the nursing staff on the 5th floor they awarded me with room no. 513 1st class non ac.
At 09:30 a male staff walks in to my room with a shaving kit asking me to get my hair in private areas shaved off.
I was told that nurse at the 5th floor nurse station had advised him to do so.
I informed him that I had come for a Nasal surgery and hence the same was not required.
He still insisted. I had to forcefully tell him to leave the room and not to do so.
Friday night I struggled a lot fighting with the mosquitoes in the room giving me sleepless night despite having a 1st class room.
Saturday morning I was asked to go to Tanooj a CT Scan center to seek a CT scan for my nasal area as the scanning machine at KMFT was non functional.
I did so. Tanooj Scan center again was a bad experience. The AC was not working in the lab area.
When I was placed below the Scan machine there were mosquitoes which troubled me and I was asked not to move while the scan was going on.
Thankfully the scaning was done and I was asked to collect the report an hour later.
I got the report collected through a cousin of mine who had accompanied me to the scan center earlier.
At 2 pm I was taken to the OT for the procedure.
I was laid on to the OT table with prescribed injections injected into me when Dr. Jagtap informed me that there was a goof-up in the scanning report and the scan film provided and need to wait till the same was clarified and restored with the Scan center at Tanooj.
Almost 20 minutes later it was concluded that Tanooj had a problem with their software and hence would not be able to retrieve the scan done and hence the OT procedure was called off.
Dr. Jagtap informed me that we shall have to postpone the procedure and hence it was agreed that I get discharged out of the hospital.
I informed Dr. Jagtap that clear me off the charges that were levied to me barring the test charges viz. blood, xray and urine test.
To my surprise the hospital had levied all charges to my account.
On speaking to Mr. Naik the administrator on phone I was first told that hospital has not levied any charges for the last evening only. Further discussions with Mr. Naik I could get the waiver for the second day as well.
But Charges with regards to pharmacy on syringes and injections to the tune of Rs. 2000/- was charged.
I have recorded a written statement on the hospital suggestion paper as well.

Concluding the above I have paid Rs. 2000/- at the cost of failure of other factors in KMFT hospital administration.

I have not got any value out of the money paid at KMFT hospital plus the time I have wasted by getting myself hospitalized and all the inconvenience we had to face by placing kids at relatives place and running around.
I look forward to your support in getting my money re-imbursed with an apology from the hospital else this will continue with other patients.

The staff also at the hospital are very loud and need trainings on soft skills.

    Hi,
the hospital is the worst an an IDIOT doctor there so badly worsened my case that i have lost all my balance and co ordination activities. its so bad that i cant go anywhere alone so i cant go to office as well. the hospital ( so called) if full of NATWARLAL'S or GURU GHANTALS.
    Regards, Amol
    This Hospital is a blunder.
The Doctors dont give a proper update to the relatives of patients about the Patients Health & Clinical Findings.
There is improper coordination between the staff & doctors.
The Wards are full of mosquitoes & a healthy person will also fall iff due to this.
On a single day 3 patients were lost who were in good condition during admission.
The major problem is that the Doctor dont give proper update to family members of patients admitted & when things gobl critical they blame the Family members for it .
