Its been 2 months I have vacated the flat and my owner is still not returning my deposit.

Im living in Gurgaon sector 5 in house no 28..I informed my landlord that I'm leaving his property before 15 days...however now when I'm trying to move out he is shouting on me and harassing me...please help

Smt Asha Fatima W/o Lt Anthony Arokya Das would like your goodself in this unusual position of mine where my Present Landlord is unwilling to provide me a Legal Rental Agreement and it has been now more than 20 days of signing the Agreement that he i. e. Mr Dilip Das S/o Lt Banku Bihari Das is not complying the same as we both mother and son is finding tough to deal with him as he is using unusual means by declining the same.
We are so helpless as this Legal Rental Agreement would help my mother to produce accordingly in various Government Offices/ Institutions as she is a Family Pension Holder and it would also be required in various other Offices / Institutions as required by the Government time to time.
I hope you could Understand our problem and would take some positive initiative regarding the same.

Landlord refused to return security deposit money and also kept few electronic goods which we left there while vacating flat due this covid pandemic. Now he is asking for extra money citing the cleaning and renovation work, then only he will return our electronic goods.
He kept pressuring us for rent during pandemic even after government order though somehow we sent him money but this is unacceptable and just inhuman. I can't let go my parents hard earned money.
I need help, i'm in different city and can't go there and complain.
Too much time has already passed.

I have vacated house on 29 aug.. and house furniture was damaged by termites because I went to my home due to covid-19 on 15th May and on July I gave noticed to my landlord about vacating house because landlord was increasing rent. At the time of given notice I was lot aware that house furniture is damaged by termites still I gave 10000 as compensation to my landlord for the furniture damage but now they asking for more money and calling me and saying if I dnt pay full amount of repair of furniture they will lodge a police complaint or sue me. I am very much depressed and tensioned because of this. Please suggest me what should I do.

We were last semester engineering students and we girls came home for Holi during March.. only to be stuck at home during Lockdown. In Bhubaneswar we lived in Tata Ariana, flat 1006, Tower 4 in Kalinga Nagar, Odisha. So after four months or so when the lockdown eased, one of our roommate went back to bbsr and packed and sent all our stuff back to us through movers and packers. While this was happening, our landlorrd refused to let us move our things unless we paid him around 52000 rupees to compensate for the months that our stuff remained at his place. Not to mention that our agreement was till may and we paid our rent sincerely till then. Even after that he asked for that money and then he subtracted our 22000 security deposit and asked for 36k which he finally reduced to 30k. We had to give in since we needed our stuf[censored]rgently as it had laptops n phones n cameras and jewellery etc... Even after that, we made sure his house was left in a pristine condition. We submitted the keys to one of the people he sent to collect it. Ever since he has been continually harassing us for the spare keys and keeps asking us to courier them but we had one key and it has already been deposited. This man took 30k from us not including the 2000 rupees electricity bill that we had to pay for.. unnecessarily. The man is Partha Sarathi Tripathi, he lives in pune.

I live in Mumbai. I have recently moved to a new flat, used to stay in a rented accommodation in Kandivali East, and have moved a new rented accommodation in Andheri East now.
I vacated the flat on 31st July and handed over the keys to him the same day. He had said once I pay all dues- electricity bill, gas bill, etc. I proactively completed all of it.
He has held on to part of my deposit amount and is refusing to return the same. He is refusing to share detailed explanation for it and is citing reasons like he needs the money to refurbish the flat for the next tenants and that we have moved on and we have a bright future and that means he can use our money to make renovations in his house.
With a lot of difficulty I have been able to recover 1.4 lakhs out of 1.5 lakhs and he is refusing to return the remaining 10k without a valid reason. He started with deep cleaning charges by Urban Clap, then came to painting charges, etc. all of which are not valid as per the agreement.
He is now refusing to provide any explanation.

This to inform you that my landlord Mr. Samit Giri sent his elder brother today with 4 other unknown individuals as we were leaving the apartment today 15/07/2020. His elder brother misbehaved with my elder brother's wife. The other 4 individuals came without any notice and were continuously creating a tense environment. I want to request you to take strict actions against their violent and insulting behavior.

I was living in Mumbai with my room mates. We were 4 room mates studying in IBS college and we left the room on 15 feb.

The landlord name Karan Sahwaney gave us post dated cheque of March. One of my room mates cheque was cleared but for the rest o[censored]s he is not giving the deposit back.

Also he deducted 2000 from each o[censored]s without any reason.

Staying in rented house since 2.6yrs. Due to covid reason house owner who is primary govt school teacher started harassing me to vacate house as working in hospital. Given written complaint to SP And DC no action taken. So they thrown us out.till now no action taken by sp and DC. Now police troubling me to close the case. Please give me justice in this matter.

There was a due rent amount 2500 and electricity amount that was to be paid as per our conversation with the landlord. I have the whatsapp messages for the same. Now they are filing false complaints that the dues have not been cleared. Earlier for the last two months we were paying half of the total amount due to the corona virus impact. Also, government have declared that no owner can force tenants to pay complete rent. Still we paid the half rent, than they told last month to vacate. After all the things have been taken by us and dues are cleared, they are now registering false complaints of dues not cleared. Have evidence of their confirmation of required amount to be paid

Hi, I booked a house on rent from Mr. Ayub on 9th March with date of moving 31st March. But because of lockdown on 25th March I couldn't move. My owner insisted to move in first week of May but I denied by saying that its still not safe I can move by 1st June. So he gave the house to someone else which is fine but he's not even returning the Rs 19, 000 advance I paid.

Can you help me in this matter. As a proof I have our conversation on SMS only.

I went to local police station as well and the officer confronted the landlord in front of me. He agreed with my situation but the owner had few contacts. Finally officer said that they can't do anything I should call consumer helpline.

Consumer helpline said that they can handle queries against registered companies only.

If you can't help me. Could you please direct me to a decent platform related to landlord issues.

Our landlord Shailesh Nair is harassing and abusing me over the phone as I am not allowing any of his visitor who visits without informing anytime to see the flat which he wants to sell. He is sending people to see the flat from the second month of my tenancy as he wants to sell it. First of all why he gave this flat on rent for a period of 11 months if he wanted to sell it. I have spent a lot of money in shifting and paperwork in this flat and from the next month only he wants to sell it and wants me entertain every visitor of his and when I don't allow strangers inside he harass and abuse me over the phone.

I am staying in Chintadripet, in Nainiappan street, No.48/18, 2and floor. My house owner name is Kannan. We are living here since 25 years and for past few months he is doing some actions to make us vacate from here. I am married and stay in my in law house. My parents are both above 55 age. To vacate us from the house he has stop the common stair electricity, no water supply completely, they have closed our access to the terrace. My mom and dad has to pump 30 to 40 pots of water to bring it to the 2nd floor, since they are both old it is creating risk to their health.. the doctor has advised my father to take care if not he might have serious injuries on his legs and back. We are a middle class family and need time to vacate and move to a different house. More over I need the landlord to give us a compensation for the difficulty they have faced mentally and physically.
Request the team to help us get rid of these issues. I am very scared this is a life threat for my parents.

I was living in noida in a pg at sector -56 c-83. Before lockdown due to corona news i came back to my hometown on 20th march. On 30th march i told my pg Landlady that i am living the pg because no one knows how long the lockdown going to be and as soon as lockdown ends and transportation starts i will get back my luggages from their. But the landlady is demanding rent and saying that i have to pay the rent.

I came this house for rent 5000 on march 05th 2020, due to corana shut down, i am unable to pay rent for march and april mid of may only starting work in swiggy and my wife also started working, in this home no bore water, no attached bathroom, for eb 1 unit rs. 7, no space for washing clothes, i am in 1st floor for water i want to go next home same house owner and get the water. I accepted others for water house owner old lady said i will give bore water after corana shut down. Due to heart attack that old lady died and her daughter from madhavaram name kanchana corrected bore but not given water to me. Sir, i've already given notice to my landlord that i'll be leaving your place on march 10, 2020, but he has refused to returned my security amount due to which i have to continue to live for one more month. During that period government has announced lockdown due to covid19, because of which i'm not able to take my luggage from that place & now landlord of the place is calling me again & again. He is harassing me to take my luggage or to give a rent. Sir, i myself in stuck in lockdown & not able to take my luggage from there. He is saying me that he is having clients with his who have to shift there, from other places & i don't know how he is doing this during the lockdown period. Sir, he is saying me that if i'll not take my luggage he'll throw my luggage out of the room, he is even threatening me. I have even told him that you break the lock of the room, & ask your client to stay, but don't break the lock of my cupboard, but he is not listening me. He is only harassing me & threatening my family. Sir, i don't have money to pay the rent at this point of time. Sir, i beg you please help me out in the same.

I deposited 3500 in a pg located near saket metro by the name swarna pg and informed the care taker one month prior, that i will be vacating the pg, due to of lockdown i shifted to my brother's apartment and asked the owner to return the deposit once the month is over he denied by saying you didn't email to vaccate the pg, however i was not informed at the time of entry that i have to email.

Hi, i stay in gurgaon. Its been a month that i have left the place of my ex-landlord's place and i have still not get my security amount. During the time of leaving i ask them to check the place and refund me the amount which is 10, 500 (After deducting all the dues). They send someone for house checking since the owners doesn't stay their and there is no care taker, i locked the room and informed them that i will open the lock the day you will return my money. I got a call from them asking to open the lock, otherwise i have to pay the rent for the days till their will be a lock. There was not even a single day that i didn't call or message them. Now i understand that these people intentionally did that just to make more money. After a week i got to know that these people broke my lock without my consent. I went to their house, where they live, but they didn't open the gate and from inside the lady clearly told me that i will not get my security amount. The biggest thing is her husband is in delhi police (Sho). Last week only i filled a compliant to the nearby police station. Though the person is helping me out but i don't think he is making the actual efforts. My owners have also threatened me that we are in a police and you cannot do anything against us. My question is if the police officers will do such kind of things, how can you expect them to me loyal in other cases. I am totally helpless. Request for a solution.

I had shifted to Nitin Sharma’s PG in Noida on 10th June 2019 from Kolkata and had paid a security deposit of INR 10, 000. I left the PG on 3rd August. I had repeatedly told him to return the money on time but he didn’t respond. Finally when my father called him on the day of leaving, he apologised and said he’ll return the money in the evening. He gave us a blank cheque and asked us to wait till 12th August before dropping it. As discussed, after deducting the AC bill, the security amount to be returned was 5, 866. But due to insufficient fund, the cheque got bounced and an extra amount was deducted from my account. Mr. Nitin had told me he would transfer the amount to my account in case the cheque returns unpaid. Since then, he hasn’t picked up calls deliberately. Neither responded to our messages for a week now. This is common practise of his in the PG which has been complained by many girls already that his cheque bounces and he does nothing about it.
I would kindly request the authority to look into this matter as soon as possible.

I work in it department in noida. I am staying in gtb nagar. My main concern of complaining against my landlord is mentally harassment. They want me to leave this house as soon as possible and they are not giving me enough time to search new house. I have agreement copy in which already clearly mentioned that there should be no interference of landlord in any matter of tenant but still they both husband and wife giving me mental torture everyday.
If this will not stop i can commit suicide.

I did registered rent agreement with mr sampat kumar godavarthy (Landlord) for a 2 bhk flat (A404, bhairav chs ltd, veera desai road, andheri west, mumbai) for the period of 22 months. Rent for first 11 months was rs 40000 and rs 42000 for rest 11 months. As per agreement, i also deposited rs 1.5 lacs of security deposit with landlord. Lock in period of 6 months was decided and recorded in rent agreement.
As landlord lives in hyderabad, hence on his behalf flat was shown to me by his broker and flat was handed over to me by him. I occupied flat in first week of april 2019.
I paid all rents on time i. E. Rs 40000 from april 2018 to feb 2019 and rs 42000 for mar 2019. Due to change of school for my children, i decided to vacate the flat from april 2019 and as per rent agreement clause of one month notice, i informed this to landlord on 8th feb 2019 (Almost 50 days in advance.
As per instruction of landlord, i handed over the flat to broker) on 26th of march 2019 in proper way. After vacating, when i asked landlord to return my security deposit, suddenly landlord started behaving differently. He always used to ask me good tenet but then onward started blaming me for different reason.
After my communication for legal action against him, he returned me rs 1.16 lacs. Now when i asked for balance money, he is telling to deduct approx. Rs 34000 as per below details-

• rs 10000 for brokerage, which he has paid to broker - its illegal as there was no mention of it in the rent agreement. I also paid rs 40000 of brokerage charge. It can not be claimed by me or him.
• rs 2500 for expense on stamp duty and registration of rent agreement - its also illegal. I paid half of expense, which is mentioned in rent agreement also and it can not be claimed for recovery by any of the party after lock in period of six months.
• rs 4000 for painting work of flat - it can not be claimed as there was no mention of it in the rent agreement. Also when i handed over flat, paint was in right condition and no repainting was required. This has been confirmed by broker also when i handed over to him.
• rs 2000 for rent differential for march 2019- as per him as i vacated after 12 months, hence rent will be rs 44000 for march 2019. As per agreement it should be rs 42000, which i have paid also to him. Hence this is also illegal and against rent agreement.
• rs 408 for gas bill and electricity bill of march 2019- as i vacated in march and bills were received after vacating, hence i was not able to deposit the bills. This is correct and can be deducted from security deposit.
• rs 15000 for repair and miscellaneous repair work in flat - when i handed over the flat to mr broker and video was also shared with landlord, everything was in order and as per him only rs 1500- to rs 2000 money was required to be deducted from security deposit as informed by him for cleaning and small repair work. However now landlord is claiming extraordinary high amount, which is illegal. This flat is very old and there are many issues in its electrical fittings, fans, drainage system, water pipe line fitting and i have already spent rs 2000 – 2200 for repair work, when i was living in the flat. Now landlord is claiming to replace all these old materials with new one and charging me whole amount. This is not correct and illegal.

Landlord is showing abnormally one sided behavior and not listening to my request. He also pressuring and harassing me mentally by making nonsense allegation.

Please help in resolving the issue.

I am residing in karol bagh in 1 room attached bathroom. The landlord is refusing to renew the rent agreement and wishes to switch to tenancy at will. Apart from that he is charging 10-20/unit for electricity use. Our bills are categorised under residential slab and not commercial. I requested him multiple times for renewal of rent agreement or return of my security deposit. Even after installing submeters for electricity he is forces us to pay 10-20 rs /unit.

I am pratika nanda, one of the tenants at 1802, 2g, new mhada colony, powai, mumbai and i left the pg on the 23rd of april which was communicated to her over the phone. She said she will be returning the advance (10, 000 inr) within 48 hours of vacating the pg but you didn’t. Neither has she responded to my numerous calls and whatsapp text messages. When i asked my friend to contact her, she told her that she will be returning the advance by the 1st of may and now that i’m trying to contact her, she is not responding. The experience with her agency - flachelor’s has been highly disappointing so far. My attempts to reach her have been futile over the last 4 months. She managed to receive only one phone call in 4 months.
All i want is my advance back. Today. I have sent her my account details over whatsapp and asked her to check and initiate the transaction right away.

I am a residence of east delhi from last two years and lives in a hostel runned by sharad steel traders, addressed as wa-51, main market sharkarpur, laxminagar. Hostel incharge sharad tyagi is making false promises in the name of hostel facilities. Anykind of problem haven't been resolved on time as no one other than few people of this hostel raise their voices regarding the same. He used to come for rent only and no basic facilities are regular even facilities for water like for utility and drinking are not even good and regular. Only the promises of wifi and cold-water in summers are there and even the landlord is not fulfilling them. He did not even repond to calls and messages and run away most of the times, whenever someone inform him about any problem. There is no security gard and cleaner as well and if there is any he only works for landlord and disappear most of the times.

Please suggest me a concrete way to deal with the problem and help me, because i want to raise voice and want to teach him a lesson instead of just leaving this hostel.

Last few days back they suddenly ask the key of main gate. Dear sir due to my family dispute i m living alone here since last few month. So u refuse to have the duplicate key of main gate. They told me to cut the light of my house. I told that i will vacate house with in 3 months and i m searching house. But sir today at9.30 pm i reached my home then i found that the owner has written his ne with ph numbers in all gate with out asking me. They people are having local contact with the goons. And i m living alone. They r trying to dispuggest me forcefully from. My house and they can kill me and poore ghar samaan per kabza kar sakte hain ye pahle bhi threat de chuke hai jiski complaint main de chuka hun. Sirr i m in great fear and trauma. Please help me. Ye kabhi bhi gate ka taala meri absent me tod kar ander aa sakte hain. Mera murder bhi ho sakta hai. Ye local log hain. Please help and safe my life.
