Sri Murugan Travel Agency Complaints & Reviews

This post/review is submitted from my end on the experience we had with Murugan Travel Agency for a recent trip we had planned and went on. This trip was between 01.05.24 and 05.05.24. This might be little lengthy, but pls have patience to read completely so that you can plan your trip with this agent in careful way in the coming days.
The trip was for Chennai, Delhi, Shimla, Manali, Kullu, and back...

We (3 Members) along with 14 people had an horrible experiences with the Old type (12 seater) Van arranged by Sri murugan travel Agency). The seats were damaged and insects were flying inside while travelling. Moreover, the Guide, Mr. Raja Manickam didn't take care our van and didn't give any proper instructions both to the van driver and us. But he took care only with another bus people only who travelled along with us. Moreover, he was in the drunken stage . The travelling plan also not as per brochure. - r s thirumurthy, Coimbatore.

I am M.Sayee ramnath Samy, residing at Coimbatore. Me & my family (5 members) went to Darjeling-Gangtok-Calcutta tour with Sri Murugan Travel Agency package no DF4 by domestic flight which includes all the expenses except entry tickets. (http://www.srimurugantravel.com/tour-df4.htm) on 28.4.15. I categorise the complaint into four areas. Complaint 1: Apart from the package they collected Rs.700/- per person for entrance fees in all the viewing attractions. But they asked us to take the tickets and after that they reimbursed at the end of the day. Actual entrance tickets in all the places for all 5 members comes to Rs.925/- only. For 5 person they collected Rs.3, 500/- but the actual entrance tickets were only Rs.925/-. Requesting them to return the excess amount of Rs.2, 575/- collected. Complaint 2: For all 6 days they havent booked A/C rooms. We were allotted 2 rooms. It is understood that in hill stations, A/C rooms means heater facility. In Calcutta also non A/C room. Being very cold at Darjeling and Gangtok, we were in need of heater facility. My mother is 75 years old and my kids were 14 years and 8 years. Being senior citizen and kids, they really expected the heater facility. More over the allotted rooms were in different floors. More over no lifts. Imagine the inconvenience caused. So, Requesting them to refund Rs.300/- per room per day. So for 2 rooms it is Rs.600/- per day. For 5 nights, it is Rs.3, 000/-. Complaint 3: First days meals is not given to us in Calcutta. We pay ourselves to get the lunch. The package is from Chennai to Chennai. But they have not given the first days meals. The operator @ Coimbatore where I booked the tour, confirmed that meals will be served @ Calcutta. But we spend our own money at Calcutta airport to get our lunch. So, Requesting them to refund Rs.100/- per person for lunch @ Calcutta, totaling to Rs.500/-. Complaint 4: No tea / coffee / snacks were given during evening time. We spend our own money for all the 6 days to get our tea and snacks. So, Requesting them to refund Rs.30/- per person. For 5 person it is Rs.150/-. For 6 days is comes to Rs.900/-. In total Rs.2, 575/- + Rs.3, 000/- + Rs.500/- + Rs.900/- = Rs.6, 975/-.

1. My sister and my mother went to Agra, Delhi, Kulu, Manali tour in a tour package formed by Sri Murugan Travel agency, which is large travel agency with head quartered in Madurai and with various branches in Tamilnadu. 2. There is CLEAR indication in the Tour package that only on the 6th day of the tour package (10/05/14) there will be Night Journey to Manali but actually there has been night journey on three day 10/05/14, 13/05/14 and 14/05/15. This has made them to suffer immensely. Note that my mother is a senior citizen and travelling continuously for night has made her sick. 3. Sri Murugan agency had stated that on payment of Rs. 2500/- per person that they will provide A/C for Train, all buses and all rooms in Delhi and agra. They have NOT provided A/C bus from Agra to Delhi and they have provided A/C rooms in Delhi only at the payment of Rs. 300 extra per room. But at the time of payment they have clearly mentioned that Rs. 2500/- was inclusive of all for Air conditioning. 4. The Guides arranged by Sri Murugan Travel agency has treated my mother and my sister very badly and have used bad words when they demanded what they were supposed to get. 5. The places where the food was prepared was unacceptable and unhygienic. It was impossible for them to eat food at such places.
