Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers Complaints & Reviews
Hidden charges to customer exchanging old ornaments purchased form WHP
| Address: shop No 6, Ground floor , Vagle vision , Dr. pissurlekar Rd. panaji Goa |
Dear sir,
i like to raise issue related to waman hari pethe jewellers
on 11.12.2023 i visited to WHP jewelers, to exchange old ornament previously purchased form WHP jewelers by my wife during our wedding ( back in 2015 ) . when we offered our ornament ( bangles) for exchange they said this bangles are of 22KT and when they buy they will convert it to 24KT
so i asked them rate of 24KT and 22KT they told showed me their rate chart
in that 24KT = 5531/gm and 22KT = 5182/gm
and to convert gold from 22KT to 24KT they multiply by 0.916
my total gold weight was 43.230 gms ( 22KT )
whose value if i multiply by their 22KT rate is Rs, 224017.86/-
when they converted by gold from 22KT to 24KT ( by multiplying by gold purity 0.916 they consider )
weight they declared is 39.590 gms (24KT)
whose value if i multiply by their24KT rate is Rs, 218972.29/-
so they are charging me Rs.5045.57 /- extra and they have not tols any thing about this which is actually 2.25% of my gold value
and when buying their ornament they tell to customer that they can buy any new ornament by exchanging old ornament and they have to pay only making charges
similarly this difference is not show at any place or in bill and totally hiding form customer
this way they have cheated many customers and also income tax dept as they have not shown this earning at any place in their books of accounts
when i ask this to them the manager of goa branch got scared and offered me direct exchange on 22KT to 22KT
details of bill are attached with their conversion slip
also they gave me their GM e-mail ID saying to contact him but they email doesn't exist

Faulty and defective making of Gold Mangalsutra which broke/ dislocated within 30 minutes of wearing at the first instance
| Address: Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers Dadar KS Branch, Mumbai |
I purchased a 34 gms Mangalsutra from Waman Hari Pethe Jewllers,
Dadar KS Branch on 7th Jan 2023 vide Bill No DA2/2223/04136 and DA
2223/04137 dated 7.01.2023 by paying Rs.1, 92, 100.00.
The making charges collected fro me was approximately Rs.25000.00
The delivery of the Mangalsutra was taken on Saturday the 7th Jan 2023
The Mangalsutra broke/ got dislocated from the link within 30 minutes
of wearing the same while we were at a family get together.
Fortunately, the incident happened at the residence of the family friend,
but she had to attend the function without a Mangalsutra. Being a reputed
Jeweller from Maharashtra, they must be aware of the importance and sanctity of the Mangalsutra for a married Hindu lady. It was an embarrassing moment for my wife and to me.
I am totally shocked at the poor quality of making of an ornament by a Jeweller of repute like WHP, when a substantial amount is being charged
to the customer.
I wish to know from the esteemed management of WHP Jewellers as to who would have been responsible if the said incident had happened outside and if the same was lost without noticing the same? Whether the amount of Rs.2.00 lakh lost by us would have been reimbursed for the faulty making of the ornament?
When I went to the Shop on 11th January 2023 the Floor Manager who
was a gentleman speaking in Hindi ( Must be a Gujarati person) was very rude and started arguing and refused to accept/ acknowledge my letter and even before verification of the broken link and had the audacity to
put the blame on my wife saying that she must have used forced, thereby resulting in the dislocation. In my entire married life of over 32 years my wife has never had such an experience and that too with a newly purchased ornament.
It has been an traumatic experience for me as well as my wife and with great concern we are thinking whether we did the right thing to purchase the jewellery from WHP.
The response by the Floor Manager who was acting as if he was doing a favour on me by accepting the broken Mangalsutra for repair was more irritating as if he had given the same for free without we paying for the Jewellery
I have returned the ornament at the shop and am waiting for an answer for the faulty making and want an reply for the poor quality of making he ornament by a Jeweller of great repute like Waman Hari Pethe.
