Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an unpleasant and humiliating experience at your theatre.
I had booked tickets for the movie Dhurandar for myself (25 years), my mother (55 years), and my younger brother (17 years and 11 months). After successfully scanning our tickets, we were stopped at the entrance and asked to present ID proof. While I understand age verification protocols, the manner in which this was handled was inappropriate and disrespectful.
Despite both o[censored]s providing valid identification, my brother was denied entry solely because he is one month short of turning 18. This decision was enforced even though he was accompanied by two adults who were fully aware of the movie rating and had consciously permitted him to watch it.
What is particularly concerning is the inconsistency in enforcement. Many of his classmates of similar age have already watched the same film in theatres without any issue. This raises serious questions about the credibility and uniformity of your rule enforcement.
Additionally, the theatre manager’s comments questioning my awareness and education were completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Such remarks are unacceptable and added to the humiliation we faced in front of others.
While I understand that age restrictions are meant to protect minors, it is unreasonable to assume that a person becomes significantly more mature in the span of one month. Furthermore, in today’s digital age, such content is easily accessible through OTT platforms, making this rigid enforcement appear inconsistent and impractical.
Given these circumstances, I request the following:
A full refund of the ticket amount, OR
Permission to watch the movie at a different showtime of our convenience.
I expect a prompt resolution to this issue and hope that necessary steps will be taken to ensure better handling of customers in the future.
