[Resolved]  Air India Flight Delay — LOSS O[censored]NUTILISED TICKET FARE DUE TO LAST MINUTE RESCHEDULING OF AIR INDIA FLIGHT.

DEAR SIR,
I HAD BOOKED AIR INDIA TICKETS FROM DIMAPUR TO DELHI VIA KOLKATA FOR TRAVELLING ON 30 APR 2011.ON THE DAY OF JOURNEY, AFTER ENQUIRYING FROM AIR INDIA CUSTOMER CARE I FOUND THAT ALL THE FLIGHTS OPERATING BETWEEN KOLKATA AND DELHI HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO INDUSTRIAL UNREST(STRIKE). THEREFORE ,I CANCELLED MY TICKET FROM KOLKATA TO DELHI AND BOOKED TICKET ONLINE IN SPICEJET FOR RS 5009/-.
BUT AT THE LAST MOMENT AIR INDIA FLIGHT FROM DIMAPUR TO KOLKATA HAD BEEN RESHEDULED & GOT DELAYED ALMOST BY TWO HOURS AND TOOK OFF AT 1520 HRS FROM DIMAPUR AND REACHED KOLKATA AIR PORT AT 1730HRS DUE TO WHICH I MISSED MY CONNECTING FLIGHT TO DELHI I.E SPICEJET FLIGHT .I ALSO GAVE EXPLANATION AT SPICEJET COUNTER REGARDING MY BEING LATE AND REQUESTED THEM TO ADJUST ME IN THEIR NEXT FLIGHT BY CHARGING ME THE FARE DIFFERENCE BUT THEY DIDN'T AGREED ON THE PRETEXT THAT I BOUGHT THEIR TICKET ON DEFENCE DISCOUNT. AS A RESULT OF WHICH I LOST AN AMOUNT OF RS.5009/ WITHOUT HAVING ANY FAULT OF MINE. FINALLY I DID SPOT BOOKING IN JETAIRWAYS AND REACHED DELHI.
IN VIEW OF THE ABOVE KINDLY SUGGEST ME, CAN I ASK FOR A COMPENSATION FROM AIR INDIA OR ATLEAST THE FARE OF MY UNUTILISED TICKET(SPICEJET) I.E RS 5009/-
. I HAVE ALSO GOT IT ENDORSED ON MY AIR INDIA TICKET FROM THE AIRPORT AUTH THAT THE FLIGHT FROM DIMAPUR TO KOLKATA HAS GOT DELAYED AND RESHEDULED AT 1510 HRS .IAM SENDING YOU COPY OF ALL THE TICKETS AS ATTACHMENT WITH THIS LETTER FOR YOUR PERSUAL.
I WILL BE GRATEFUL INCASE MY COMPLAINT CAN BE ANSWERED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AT THE BELOW MENTIONED EMAIL ID.
