[Resolved]  Airtel 4G LTE — SIM not activated

Hi,
Recently i purchased an Airtel 4g Dongle on 30th April 2013. I was promised that the sim would be activated on 2nd May as 1st may was a holiday.
We have been calling customer care 5 - 6 times a day and each representative had his own story to tell. But the fact of the matter is that even after 4 days of purchasing the dongle we are yet to use it.

As we are running out of patience i have only two choices left to make:
1)To terminate the connection immediately
2)Wait until 6 pm on the 4th of may for the activation failing which we will be forced to terminate the connection and loose all faith in Airtel customer care

As we use the internet frequently we cannot wait longer. We demand that Airtel provide reliable customer care and prompt service.

I know this is a 2 month old post but I am in a very similar situation if not worse.

I returned from Uk after 3 years last week and was still on a work contract when I arrived.
I had to transfer large video files to my director and producer for test screenings n such so I opted for
a 4g connection. Purchased on Friday 5th July. About an hour ago customer care told me it will take 24 hrs more.
Today is the 9th. So Im guessing tomorrow or another week or more or whatever really. I have travelled to 3 different houses(friends and family) to upload my work to Leeds and London. Unlike here deadline means deadline in UK. Time is of very little value here.

Quite shameful that in UK i could get a connection in 24hrs guaranteed with zero misdirection or misinformation.
Well I'm just reminded what services here were like 3 yrs ago before I left.

I will probably be cancelling tomorrow evening if things don't workout and try other options.

For other people reading just be aware. Also if possible don't even pay for the dongle before confirmation of a working connection.
Its proper daylight robbery.
Dear Sir,

We purchased the airtel 4G data card Dangle on 13/12/2013 vide bill no 3387 dt 13/12/2013 from saroj Agencies communications Jayanagar 3rd Block Bangalore. On producing the valid documents .As it was for our company usage when they go out for their laptop. We requested them for activating within 48 hours all verification of address everything was made on 16/12/2013.Daily we are making not less than 5 To 6 times mobile call but each time they are telling that it will be activated today/Tomorrow not being done anything so for. It will be More Than 10days from now Our Sim No is[protected].
Finally we have only two options

1) Activate the 4G connection immediately or

2) Take back the 4G dangle sim card /data card back and refund the Rs1500/= Paid

We hope that we would anticipate the action taken in this matter immediately by airtel. We are very sorry we have no other option.

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my Airtel 3G to 4G sim and was informed to sms the sim no to 121 in order to activate. I sent SMS to activate the new sim along with the Sim number, in response received a message that the current sim will be in active stats until the new sim is activated. Also, request status can be checked by sending the SMS order number to 121 from airtel or [protected] from non-airtel number. Very soon my current sim is de-activated and the new sim is not yet activated. When I tried to check the status from non-airtel number, i was reported "Request not processed as this mobile number is not registered with us." Its been a day and am still waiting. Poor service.

So i purchased 4G sim for both my Iphones, forget 4G, 3G is also not working. Why does airtel have to hype about things which they cannot deliver? IS THERE A SOLUTION TO THIS OR AM I STUCK WITH THIS COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL NETWORK? You guys have 48 hours to resolve this issue or else I want my money back.

I got a 4g sim and it affected my note's motherboard. . Thank god my phone was under warranty so I got a free service or else I should have paid 18k for new motherboard. .. then I complained to the airtel person, he gave me a new sim but that isn't getting activated... from 3 days I'm waiting... this so annoying 😤

Im swetha I took airtel 4g on 8th of January, they said that sim would be activated for bi saturday on 9th, but still the sim is not activated wat is this
I am facing the same issue as Mr. Agrawal.

I bought Airtel 4G dongle on 1st March 2016. I got my address verification done at both my home and office address. Today is March 3 and the SIM is not activated yet.

I called customer care[protected] several times but they always say that the system doesn't have information yet, please call after 4 hours. Finally because of delay in activation my request got terminated and I am hanging no where.

I called the point of sale and he has re-driven the activation request, but I see the system not getting updated yet. I am afraid that it will fail again. I am going to return the Airtel device and get back my money.

Guys, I advise you to avoid their services.

I came from the US for a vacation in India and bought this from a distributor. I am still waiting for activation after 2 weeks. I was planning to land a long-term contract for a business that I was going to start in India but now I am going to actively discourage people from going to Airtel.

Yesterday I borrowed an airtel 4g SIM and the SIM isn't activated even though the shop person got the message as my SIM number had been activated Wat is the solution for this???????

I put online request for Airtel 4g dongle, after ahrs gap so many calls for providing.i am staying at Bangalore at Yelhanka new town, with dongle person reached 2nd Jun 8.30am saying belong to indiranagar (15km).The person Airtel don't know anything as I am using dongle since 7years of reliance so my self only installed.The Airtel dongle till not active, even reference & address verified yesterday.when purchasing they told 6hr, after24hr now34hr different answers from each .i hope if it active by tomorrow if not need back money.

I am a new Airtel customer and have just obtained a SIM. After waiting four hours I tried to activate, but the instruction is to call a number (59059) and since it is not activated I cannot make a call! So what is the solution??

I took a new 4g sim with my old number( old sim I bought in 2010). The shop guy said it will activate after 24 hours. It's been four days. It is not activated, so I went to the shop again, and checked it. He said it is not updated . Wtf bro what is this faltu service ?, I have been a Airtel customer for 8 years and never been so much dissatisfied. now I see why u guys are incurring losses these days.
