I was an Airtel Broadbandi, Bangalore, user for nearly two years. The fixed line number allocated was 42115300. Throughout I faced minor issues with the service (bill not delivered, lack of automatic upgrade, no automatic change of billing address even though the internet connection was shifted !, etc.). The internet connection was however stable and speed was as desired.

In June 2010 and July 2010 I received a bill for Rs. 800 (Rs 400 per month) for local circle calls. I refused to pay the bill unless I got itemized call details since I rarely use the land line and have no local contacts. I used to get a call from Airtel almost every alternate day for about a month inquiring whether I had paid the bill and my response each time was "Give me itemized bills and I will make the payment". At the end of the call airtel rep always promised me itemized bill. The bill never arrived. Finally I lost my temper and was angry on two calls. This time they did send me an email with by billing invoice. No itemized call details ! After that they disable the connection. I complained again and this time the rep said we can't provide itemized call details ! I needed internet badly so I went ahead made the payment and things were smooth. I did not get call charges worth a rupee in the next months.

However in the month of October - November 2010 during which time I was out of town for 20 days I was surprised and shocked to receive a bill of approximately Rs 1000 for local calls. I was furious. I complained refused to pay till call details records were provided and the same cycle continued. I did not get the call records! Finally I had it with Airtel and I asked for cancellation of the connection.

After a month an agent from airtel came to my place for final settlement. I told him that I'll pay if I get call detail records. He agreed and asked me to file a complaint with customer care which I promptly did.

I got no reply for about over a month.

After a month suddenly in the morning I got a call from Delhi. A person claiming to be a section officer for Delhi police started firmly questioning me on my personal details and asked me why I was not in Delhi High Court. I was naturally shocked and asked him what is this regarding. He said did you not get two court notices. I said no. Then he told me
Bangalore police were on their way to arrest. Me and my family were thouroughly shocked with what was happening. He then gave me a number of another person who claimed to be a
high court advocate while refusing to divulge any information. I called the lawyer who then told me that Bharti Airtel has filed a case against me for non payment of dues and to
ld me that they were filing criminal charges for not appearing in Delhi court hearing which just finished in Delhi. I had never received the notice which I told her. She said sh
e has proof. I told her that the only proof acceptable is my signature and that instead of police coming to me I am going to the police with there two numbers. She hung up at th
is. Next the alleged section officer from Delhi called. He told me that he would make sure that nothing happens if I pay up in half an hour. I agreed just to get some advice fro
m my dad who happend to be a CID officer. He immediately told me that this was just a scam to force me to pay up. After half an hour the alleged police officer calls back and as
ks me if I paid up. I told him I didn't and asked him for his full name and rank and posting. He got furious and started abusing me calling me a thief stealing from Airtel. I to
ld him that I know he is just a collection agent for airtel and I am not afraid he could do what he wants at which point he started using vulgarity. I told him about my dad bein
g in police which is when he hung up.

After this incidednt I have again placed three different complaints to airtel one for harrasment, and two for itemized bill and they continue to send me the billing invoice. I t
ried to contact airtel officials higher up but the reps just send me on a three hop drive from R.T.Nagar to Jayadeva Hospital to Domlur. Each office replies that they will resol
ve this problem but no result yet.

Should I go to police or should I go to a consumer court. I have been wronged on three accounts, incorrect billing, lack of transparency and harrassment.

Airtel — WRONG BILLING AND NO ITEMIZED BILL

Sir,
I am using the no# 98100144**... I am currently using 495 top of the plan. I have 30paisa calling and 1 R SMS rate
What surprises me is that though I have high usages of talk time, my SMS rate has been increasing ever since 5 to 6 months
I have a monthly subscription of itemized billing – rental paid every month 50 Rs
And guess what, I only get the call rate notification and nothing regarding the smses... When asked, I have been told that Airtel doesn’t provide this facility...
And when I persist, they send me the same by courier and promise me that in future I will receive the itemized bill in full (call rate as well as smses). But that was only for one month .
Funnily I am also being deducted money for the so called value added services for Airtel live –and the rep on call insist that I have subscribed to it and they insist that I have used this service no matter how much I plead innocent... They literally obtrude their policy rules and insist on something that you as a customer have not used.
The icing on the cake is your conversation with the team leader who repeats the same as the rep on the call only that it seems that he hasn’t taken or reviewed his customer relational skills.
The action to the reaction is that it makes my head boil!
Logic says to me that why will use 432 RS on SMS every month when I have a 30paisa calling?
And if I want to cross check then why is it that I am not allowed to receive the SMSES data
(Every other subscriber gives you full details – there’s no concept of policy stating that SMSES data cannot be sent)
And yes, I only want the hard copy by mail and I am strictly against checking the details on net. Sorry if that hampers Airtel saving paper policy! (I am poor I don’t have net at home and don’t have the access to It anywhere else)

Broadband & fixedline phone — Wrong billing & harassement

This is in ref of my tel nos.[protected] &[protected]. After very first month of installation of these two telephones, i requested for surrender of internet facility & change of tariff plan to voice plan only on these two numbers.
I was offered a voice only monthly plan of Rs. 180 rental which i approved of, and your 121 customer care executive assured me the applicability from next billing onwards.
But to utter regret, the same has not been done despite of my repeated reminders, written requests & follow up with collection executives.
As a result, i ceased usage of both the numbers whereas a few payments were also made Despite of non compliance o[censored]r repeated assurance.
I am fed up now of receiving ur nonsense calls of harassements everyday and want to surrender both the numbers.
I can forward reference nos.of my requests and photocopies ofwritten requests along with dates of despatch for ur convenience. Kindly look into the matter at the earliest & redress my greivance. Looking forward to an action suitable o[censored]r reputation & committment.

Airtel Broadband — Incorrect Billing and Harassment

I had Airtel Broadband connection and now i've disconnected the line after issues pertaining to billing which was very common.

I had unlimited plan and changed to limited plan for a month and after that period i reverted back to unlimited but this Airtel did not reflect this change in the next bill and despite repeated calls to the customer care regarding this, which they told will solve in 2 days the issue was never happened. Repeatedly i was bombarded with their stupid on-line calls to pay up the bill.

And after a month and half of calling to customer care things didn't change much, now that I've disconnected the line, am getting calls from collections department to pay it up. These guys sound quite rude and now they are threatening to send a legal notice and are saying i cannot do anything but to pay up the amount.
Which amounts to close to 5000/-

Airtel Broadband — wrongly claim higher amount & give harassment calls

Hi this is Monika Grover resides paschim Vihar,delhi,using one broadband connection . I request airtel people to disconnect my connection due to some renovation going on my place. my request has been registered with them whose Complaint ref no is 902123. After few days i received call from representative by suggesting us to keep your connection temporary disconnect without any cost & afterwards whenever you required get it active . now after 3 months they come up with huge bill saying temporary disconnect will cost me Rs 250/pm. when i ask them to show some proof ,then they start harrasing me & says recovery agents will automaticall get out their money out of you .
I am MBA gradaute,working with software company with persuing CS. so i can't expact such behaviour from airtel guys. Kindly resolve my issue.

Airtel Broadband — bill not received and incorrect bill

I dont have any words to describe about the airtel customer service. I took this airtel broadband connection in the month of june but tillnow i havent received any bill from them. I have called their customer services and complaints 198 and nobody was able to resolve the problem everytime they are disconnecting the calls i dont know how many complaints i raised for this everytime the advsr will say that yes you will get a bill within 3 working days. On top of this they will say each time that they have sent a bill and they will give somebody name. how can they send my bill to a diff person? it is really their inability to send a bill.

From the day 1 I have been facing these problem with airtel guys the person who came at the first time to collect the money and to register for the bb he told me that they can give 699 rs plan and for the first one week i would be having only limited option which is 4GB and after one week he promised me that i will be getting unlimited for the same price with reduced speed i accepted that and also he mentioned that the charge for the hub is only 600 Rs but when they came to install line the other person says that it is 800 Rs my impression on airtel gone from this point. When he took that money 699 while registering for this he said that they will install this within 4 days but i waited for this for 8 days I was really disappointed by each and every time with airtel this is not the customer service i am not going to recommend this to anybody in my life.

Now they are not leaving me any way as they are not sending bills but they will call to pay the bill and also after the first week i spoke to the guy who promised me that he is going to give unlimited bb but there is no response from him he says that he was busy and he will ask me to call again and again and after some time he told me that sir we will give from the next bill date 11/07/2011 but it is same story again that guy absconded and to verify this i spoke to airtel cust services on 12190 they told there is no order placed on the account for the unlimited option i spoke to them before 11/07/2011 to confirm this and also they told me that they dont have any option like that so i req them to close this account as i am not getting what i want and am not getting bills so they told me they will take req for this and again afte some time i got a call from one person he told me very nicely sir why dont yo go with unlimited for 599 Rs i said ok if you can give this for 599 am happy and he mentioned that it will be effective from 11/07/2011 as they can change the plan from only billdate so i said ok and I thought that problem was resolved but it was not as he hasnt placed any order to change my plan ....again same story am fedup with this and till now am waiting for my bills and again they told they are going to activate unlimited option i think i got it now again am not sure as they told me that they have activated it by 11/08/2011 postponed it seems??? for some reason...

Oh my got i never wrote this in my exams also these airtel making me to write like anything? I have never expected this kind of service from this company and they will disconnect the calls if you call the cust service because they cant deal with this and they cant answer my queries.........Finally now i asked one of the advsr my outstanding they are saying that it is around 1200 Rs......Tell me now what to do i paid already 699 and this bill is for two months it seems but after paying 699 also the charge is around 1200.....so for their mistake again they are charging late fee.. and they are telling that I have used extra bb so if am getting unlimited how can i exceed with a speed of 256kbps i will not be able to download with this speed ..? this is nt acceptable as they may think that am only one cust and they can ignore me but i dont bother but i wanted to tell this story to be cautious about this airte ...in my opinion i suggest not to take this bb connection even u will face same problems..If you call cust service u will not get help ? and they will disconnect your call after placing your call on hold for almost 20 mts that is time waste.

my dear folks i will wait for the resolution for this if possible i dont think i will get from airtel because of the service i had already ...

anyhow thanks for giving this chance to express my feeling still i didnt explain things as my fingers are paining now and i cant speak to them also .....
