Airtel — Non-availability of Airtel Lifetime Prepaid facility

I am having Nokia mobile having Airtel No. [protected]. Earlier my mobile was having Airtel connection with Non Stop Plan 349. In the evening on 24.10.2008, I met Airtel's Customer care unit at 54A, Bhupen Bose Avenue Branch ( near Shyambazar Metro Station) and submitted my requsest for converting my existing connection to Airtel Lifetime Pre-paid. Lady Customer Care Officer after reviewing my papers advised me to pay the required amount and immediately I paid the same.
She handsover Shim &toldconnection would be activated within 48 Hrs ( i. e. by 26.10.2008 ) and the Shim woulsd be inserted then in the Mobile. As per her advise, Shim was inserted and till then no In coming and Out going is available.I contacted Customer Care Official of Air Tel on 121 on 28.10.08 and Complained. The Officer advised me to contact their Bhupen Bose Avenue Branch as problem generated from their end. Accordingly I met Customer Care officer at Bhupen Bose Avenue Branch, from where Shim was given to me. I explained him that In coming and Out going facility of my mobile is very Urgent as being a top level Excecutive of a multinational Company for business I have to travel hereand there ( as tomorrow I am going to Delhi ) and without that my assigment is affecting seriously. The Officer confirmed me that fault is from their end and facility will be available within 5.00 PM today. Now it is 9.35 PM, but till now it is not available. I contacted customer care of Airtel on 121 now ans attended by Subhojit. On hearing everything he told me to contact their Customer care Unit at Bhupen Bose Avenue.

I would like to ask Airtel Management that why due to fault of them I will be suffering and who will adjust / pay me asignment / Business loss due to that.

It is really shameful to get such careless service from a renowned Company like Airtel.
