[Resolved]  Airtel — MNP held up

Address:Chandigarh

Dear sir,
I am using two airtel nos. [protected] and [protected] which are having call drop problem for more than six months. I am not able to take up call comfortably from my office as well as home. in this regard a complaint was lodged on 11.08.2010, Airtel agrees that there is a problem but are not able to resolve it till date. when I applied for MNP I was flooded with calls assuring me that this issue will be resolved in one days time( which is is either impossible or else they have not cared about my complaint lodged in Aug).
Now the issue is that Airtel have objected to my MNP on the pretext that I have signed a contract with them (which is not true).
Is that the right behavior that one is not provided proper service and is not allowed to change service provider.

If they keep on harassing me I will take legal way claiming all the damages due to deficiency in services.
I am surprised why this company is not clear and transparent

ON MNP they are cheating and trying to retain customers by wrong ways
This is regarding MNP wherein I had put request to port out my number from Airtel to Vodafone. This request was rejected by Airtel saying I can not switch because of "contractual obligation". Airtel says that since I am with an IT company and have corporate number I can not switch. This is totally unfair that just because I am working for an IT company I cannot avail MNP facility.

Most of the employees from IT companies have postpaid corporate plans so if this rule applies, MNP is keeping away many subscribers/users away from MNP and its benefits.

I am sure these operators are finding excuses to retain their customers and troubling them by such excuses.

Request to kindly take strict action against such operators.
Yes Airtel is the number 1 fraud company which rejects the MNP request from the customer saying contractual obligation. I have got the same message from them
My name is Shajid K.P., an existing Airtel customer (mobile No. [protected]- prepaid) and applied for the MNP to change the service to Vodafone and I received a message from the vodafone that the my current operator ie Airtel has rejected my request due to subsisting contractual obligation. I immediately called the Airtel customer care regarding this issue and they held my call for a long period of time saying that they are connecting to the senior customer care and cut the line. I tried four times today morning (01/02/11) and finally one of the persons in the customer care said that the address given by me when I took the connection and the current address which now I am residing is different thats why they rejected. It sounds very clearly that they are just giving excuses for the rejection and they want to hang up on the customer which they do not want to lose. I was just for a change liked to change the service from Airtel and now I have decided I will never be a customer for Airtel because of their fraudulents. This is for sure in any way I will change my service from Airtel. Please guide me where I have to complain regarding this issue.
Airtel is finding out flimsy reasons to prevent its customers from porting out. I had applied for porting to BSNL from airtel and today i got a message telling that my porting got rejected by service provider due to 'legal reasons'. ([protected]- airtel kerala)
I contacted the customer care in th morning, they said they will transfer te call to concerned department, there nobody picked up te phone. I kept on calling, and one guy told me that the problem is with the documents I submitted, and its the duty of BSNL to resolve the issue. I contacted the Sub Divisional engineer of BSNL in my area, she checked the details and told me that, Its no one but Airtel who rejected my request due to "contractual obligation". I called airtel customer care once again, he tried to repeat the same lie, but I told him not to lie and to tell me the details of "contractual obligation", he couldnt answer me and transferred my call to his senior, she also went speechless and then she gave me the number of Airtel nodal officer. I told her about the issue and I found out the reason why they rejected it.
Few days after getting my porting ID, one guy frm airtel had called me and given me some offers and asked me whether I will continue with airtel if I am satisfied with those offers, They took it as a "YES" and that is the contractual obligation!!
I again called th airtel customer care and asked them to cancel all my offers so that i can port out. Now they have changed my "YES" to "NO" and I can port out!!
So I need to submit a new porting request with BSNL.
Airtel is trying to cheat its customers who wish to port out using such cheap techniques.
So, dear people, when ever someone calls you from airtel( Or any service provider) to tell about offers and asking YES/NO answers, please tell them that you wont remain in airtel, what ever offer they make! Even if you say a half yes to continue with airtel, they will take it as a "contractual obligation" and will reject your porting request.
I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY CONCERN TO BE RESOLVED. NONE FROM AIRTEL IS CONTACTING ME REGARDING " MY CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS" WHICH THEY CLAIM i HAVE WITH THEM BUT i AM SURE i DON'T HAVE ANY

i HAVE NO WAY OUT BUT SEEKING LEGAL HELP

SORRY TO SAY THAT THIS IS A REGULAR REPLY - NONE AT AIRTEL BOTHERS ABOUT ANY COMPLAINT

SHAMEFUL
Dear friends,

Airtel is a worst company...

Their costumers are trying to escape from them.
So they are playing a drama to stop customers from porting out.
MNP requests are rejecting with false reasons.
We have to complaint it to TRAI against this.
i agree that airtel is worst company
