[Resolved]  Airtel Digital TV — Engineer visit charges

My customer id : [protected]-001. I am not able to receive any signal. Airtel is asking Rs. 100 for engineer visiting charges. Why should it charge me anything, Digital TV is a service it is providing me same as broadband and not a hardware sale like set top box or computer or TV (airtel doesn’t charge any engineer visiting charges for broadband) . If the set top box is not working after 6 months warranty then I should pay but if there is some problem with the disk or cable why should I pay even it is 1 rupee ? I want a lawyer to consult and fight a case for consumer against Airtel.

i to have such problem and they charge me 300rs
Few days in our society we were facing issue of connectivity, its got resolved. But after that I was only able to see HD channels and few of the normal channels. I decided to remove all HD channels so I requested them and they changed my pack. Now I am unable to see any normal channel. I am sure that there is no problem with settop box there may be some adjustments needed in dish antenna. But to do so I have to pay 150/- visiting charges which is not at all accepted. Why should I pay.
Having the same issue, The set up box automatically got hanged with the airtel Logo and now airtel is asking for 150 Rs for visiting .
It is totally Unbearable.
Does it helps submitting complaints here??

I mean for what, like if there’s an issue with cable or signal why should have to pay the technician visiting charges
I’m facing this signal issues twice in a month, so I have to pay 150/- for each visit.
Nice this seems a good deal for them, 300/- for plan and 300/- for visiting charges
These are all un bearbale... Airtel is looting customers . First we will pay for everything and now for the services also. That means we are only paying the salary of the technicians.. Airtel is just sitting and enjoying the play..

i mean this is such an stupidity and peoples are tollerating this. Today, i was having a signal issue and i called customer care.. they are now asking to pay 150 for technician visit.. i simply asked them to disconnect the service.. i wont support any unusual things ever. i will switch to different service provider...
If the problem is due to fault of service provider then why customer has to pay the service charges? This is unacceptable.
Its the same problem with tatasky also. Really surprised at how these providers are making money or basic service that we are paying for.

I have the same problem. It is their service problem. They are getting charges from me as monthly charges. A service person came, rectified the issue and asked for charges which was not mentioned. I said I will not give. SO he again repaired the connection. Question is why should I pay for a service? We should avoid Airtel. When I have service call in broad band they are not charging in airtel.
I have taken airtel extreme setup box connection. But the airtel extreme setup box which was installed is defective. It restarts for every 1 or 2 minutes. After happening like this for week then it stopped working. It was not getting started. I feel that the soft ware in extream set up box has to be improved.
I am having Signal issue..Airtel Customer care is asking for 150 Rs Visit Charge. WHY should I pay for the Visit if it is signal problem ? For every Signal problem, they visit and we pay ? Really ?
Airtel: DTH set top box issue
My customer id is [protected] and from past couple of days the set top box shows as downloading software and but it never gets completed. It’s purely a set top box issue and Airtel team has to help his customers. But to my surprise when I called customer care for assistance they have promised to send the technician/service engineer only if am willing to pay them service charge of Rs 150. I told them it’s not at all our fault as there is some issue with set top box but their customer service representative responded in a fierce way that whatever may be the issue you need to pay service charge. I’m going to remove the Airtel connection if they are not going to resolve this is Asap.
Airtel provide worst services..how can they charge for the technical problems..and when you call customer care they ask you for minimum rs150 for visit of a technician after fake try of fixing problems on phone. Airtel sucks
I am also facing same problem with Airtel DTH. My set top box is under warranty and they are charging 150 RS as visiting charge which 1/3 of set top box price. and more worst is that they don't even provide new set top box they replace it with some older ones which is already repaired, If they are giving me bad set top box and giving me 1 year warranty it will obviously going to break and they will collect extra 150 RS to change it every time. Why should i pay any charge when there is no fault from my side?. And when we ask same question to any customer rep they say that this is company policy and if you will not pay we will not give you visit or any service
