[Resolved]  Airtel / MNP — Regarding porting from vodafone to Airtel

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Hi,

On 22nd of Jan, I went to one airtel store (teynampet, Chennai) to get new postpaid connection for my vodafone number.
I submitted all required document and paid Rs 350/-

I have following concerns:
1) Till now, I didn't get airtel connection. For last two days, I am trying to get some update. Several times I called them, but they are not at all giving me any update.. It seems, noone knows, what is happening. They are keep on giving me each others number to get the update, but no-one is replying properly.

I want to know, is there anything missing from my side, let me know. I am really got frustrated.

2) I paid 350/- but now I got confusion, why did they took 350/- instead of 19/- which is the porting charge.
Do the rest 331/- is for new postpaid connection?
In my office, airtel is providing the postpaid connection without any activation or any other charge.
For the same connection, I paid 331/-.
Can you please guide me what is this charge? Is it refundable?

Can you please help me to understand what is happening or how much time will it take. They said, it takes 7 days, but still I am waiting.....

Manish

hi..

i've submitted the mnp application on 11th feb 2011 as i want to move from vodafone to airtel so that i can get 3G in airtel.. but till now i've not got any information on mnp as my existing vodafone no is still active, i called vodafone customer care and they are saying that Airtel has yet send them the request to deactivate my vodafone no and when i called airtel they are saying that there dont follow any such procedure and saying my application has been processed from their end and airtel is saying that the issue is with vodafone. then i called vodafone mnp tollfree no and checked my mnp status- it still says application has been rejected due to contractual obligation but vodafone says it is not there issue and saying it is cleared now.. i called both vodafone and airtel so many times and both are pointing each other and i am clueless now and i dont know what to do to solve this problem..

i am so frustrated and this is such pain to keep calling without getting proper response.
