Airtel — Charged for not used service | |||
I received an SMS from Airtel (AD-54321) on 8/2/2011 saying that I have renewed for subnobad subscription service and I have been charged Rs.15/-.I called up the helpline and informed them I never used this service and thus have never even renewed it. I asked to cancel the service and return the deducted balance. They informed the service activation has been done by me itself which actually I have never done and also the deducted amount cannot be returned.Request you to please help me. As one of the largest mobile service providers in India, one would expect that Airtel would not have to resort to cheap and dirty tricks to make a profit. However, over a long period (I have been using an Airtel connection for over a year, and several of my friends for several years), we have noticed that they make a practice of making unauthorised deductions from our accounts, pretending we have activated services that we have never even heaerd of, let alone subscribed to. These include a 'Subnobad subscription', an 'Active Deals Pack' and many others.
On contacting Customer Care, we are usually informed that the balance will be reverted to our accounts (this, in my view, is in itself an admission of guilt on the part of Airtel, and an indication that they regularly have to deal with these cases- otherwise they would not give in so easily). But the same thing repeats in a few days; this has been going on for the past year (in my case).
I am surprised that they seem to have no sense of ethics, and would like some official from Airtel to answer why.
I have written to the newspapers, and am in the process of filing a case in Consumer Court. I hope Airtel and all its sleazy officials [censored] themselves and suck their own dicks.
Thank you
