[Resolved]  Airtel — Postpaid to prepaid migration

Address:Karnataka

I lost my airtel post-paid SIM card almost 3 months ago, but unfortunately I couldn’t realize that as I was out of station.

So once realized I planned to convert it to prepaid, and I went to airtel office (Indiranaga, Bangalore) on 20-Oct-2012.
I have paid all the outstanding amt till 20nd and submitted all documents they asked. At that moment they issued me a duplicated SIM card being told that it will be get activated in 24 hours.

I waited 1 week and but it didn’t happen, then I called the customer service and raised a complaint but I didn’t get any kind of confirmations form airtel regarding this complaint.
Later on today when I called the customer care again, they told me that a new bill has been generated on 20-Oct-2012 that’s why the migration didn’t happen.

But my bill date is 22nd of every month. I got the bill generated on 23rd of Oct as well, attaching the bill mail as a proof.

I have sent couple of mails to the below addresses as well but i didn't get any answer form them.
'[protected]@airtel.in'; 'appellate.[protected]@airtel.in'; 'nodalofficer.[protected]@airtel.in'; '[protected]@airtel.com'; 'ceo.[protected]@airtel.in'; 'nodalofficer.[protected]@in.airtel.com'
'care.[protected]@airtel.in'; 'appellate.[protected]@airtel.in'; '[protected]@in.airtel.com'; '[protected]@in.airtel.com'

What can I do further on this?
Please advise.

Thanks,

I also faced rather I say unusal situation at Airtel Relation ship center at Ghandhi Bazar outlet, Bangalore.

I communicated to Customer service executive at the outlet that i want to migrate from Post paid to Pre paid. She told to provide ID Proof, Address proof and one Passport size photo. Also told that it will take effect in 7 working days. As Adress proof i carried rental agreement. But when i submitted it she told to get Rotary seal, this was not communicated to me earlier ( Since the was second saturday Govt. offices doesn't work). Then instead of rental agreement i carried Telephone bill.

When i submitted all the documents the customer service executive told you have to fill Migration form. I asked for it she told forms not available right now come on Tuesday or Wednesday or to visit 4 km away another outlet. I asked how i know form is available at that outlet, No reply. Then i asked for customer complaint form. She told not avialable. I was astonished to hear that isn't it. I lodged complaint by calling Airtel customer care. Such careless attitude at Airtel outlet is a bad experience even in days of competition ???
This is to bring to your notice the inconvenience that Airtel Customer is facing. I have given request to migrate my PostPaid Airtel No-[protected] into PrePaid and now 12 days has been completed and my problem didn’t resolved.
The bad things is that they don't pick the phone and each time i have to go their Center to ask the status.
Each time they do false commitment and never fulfill them.

I am continuously going to Airtel Outlet from last 12 days by leaving my Important offce work and more bad is I am unable to receive or my important Call as my SIm is not working so badly affecting my official work too.I have to support my official Team even after my Office time our so they are unable to contact me so I am loosing my Business too.
I am too frustrated from last 12 days and bothering too much due to this problem.
You can guess that the working of Airtel Customer service that from Airtel Outlet to Customer Service, everyone is facing some technical problem. If they are unable to rectify their problem, then how can we expect the resolution for our issue.
I have also drop mail to Nodal Officer/Appellate/TRAI and waiting for their response from last two days.

Therefore I request you to please take proper action ASAP regarding my Issue.
Hoping kind co-operation from your side.

I am going through the similar problem.
I have given the Postpaid to Prepaid migration request on 28th Feb 2009 and till date 09th Mar 2009 nothing has happened. Moreover SIM is dead and I am totally disconnected.

I think AirTel is over subscribed and they cannot handle the users now.
Time for me to think of other service provider.
Hi,

I currently have an Airtel prepaid sim and now thinking about postpaid. I am sure that I can retain the same number while I convert it to postpaid. My question is that if I am not happy with the postpaid service and want to convert it back to prepaid, can I retain the same number? I heard from some of my friends that you can migrate from prepaid to postpaid or vice versa only once. But I recently saw an Ad on DD which says that we can convert from prepaid to postpaid and vice versa any number of times. Now I am in a dilemma on which is correct. Can someone clarify on this and where I can get the relevant info?

Thanks and regards,
Pradeep D

AirTel — Migration from postpaid to prepaid

I was having a postpaid mobile no [protected] from airtel.Due to the nonpayment of the bills they disconnected it, but on 14.11.2009 i cleared all my dues which was Rs.2160. And i was told that this no. will be changed to prepaid and they provided me with the new SIM card (no.[protected]) @ Rs.220.(for the Sim).I gave them all the necessary documents and from 14th nov. 2009 till today this sim has not been activated . And i had called the airtel customer service countless times times but their reply always is that 'we will look into the matter'.I called the local airtel showroom but they are not even picking my call, and when i visit them they always tell me that it'll be activated soon and gave me the no. of one Mr. Ramakrishnan([protected]) in chennai who is with airtel.Ramakrishnan told me that he had'nt received the document, then i myself posted all the documents to him. After receiving the documents he told me that he had activated it.But it has not been activated yet,and Ramakrishnan is now telling me that he cannot do anything and i should come to chennai (frm Tiruvannamalai) and contact at any airtel showroom. Can anyone tell me what shoud i do now ? to whom should i contact?
(Mobile No- [protected])
