[Resolved]  Airtel — STB REPLACEMENT CHARGE IS UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE

dt. – 17.11.10 - SMS received – Your problem resolved(without attaining the complain)
dt.- 18.11.10 - phone call received – Are you satisfied ?

dt.- 20.11.10 – ref. no 4524997 - Second official complain
Complain attained on Saturday 20.11.10

But what Service Engg. mentioned & done - totally unfair business practice by Airtel DTH service as below :-

Set Top box has been damaged, it will be replaced with another old,repaired set top box of another customer.Charge for this is Rs 500/-.At the same time he will take my set top box.There is no other option.If this replaced old/repaired STB will again malfunctioned, then again Airtel DTH will charge Rs.500/-

I placed my view/stand as mentioned below,but executive of Airtel DTH simply cut his line as saying this is the system and charge for all.

My question is :-
1. Airtel DTH is declaring that STB,Anteena, sim etc are all property of Bharti Telemedia Limited.
2. Airtel will charge Rs.500/- for not giving me anything, took away my STB and gave old/repaired STB.
3. May be STB repaired at a minimal cost, may be minor problem in STB like needs recharge of a battery as it never turned green, always in stand by mode. Also I found a lot of common complain for this on net and service engineer of Airtel had kept many malfunctioned STB in his byke.
4. Analysis the unfair business policy as Below

*First I purchased the Airtel DTH
*Second time I will give again for STB Rs.500/-(old/repaired one)
*Third time Airtel DTH will again earn Rs 500/- by installing my STB at
another customer place.
*Fourth time Airtel DTH already earned Rs.500/- by charging this to the customer, whose STB was installed in my place plus purchase price.
So, can you imagine the value of single STB to Airtel? That is no. of installation multiply by Rs.500/-
5. Dear Sir, can you bother to stop this practice?
6. So, please do not charge Rs.500/- ,instead return my STB after repair.
7. When new DTH set price is sub below Rs.1000/- with few months subscription free, how you can charge Rs.500/- for old/repaired STB ?
8. What is the procedure to surrender Airtel DTH? Presently I have account balance of around Rs.760/-.How much I will get for DTH set? What is the TRAI’s guideline for this?
9. So that I can purchase a new connection immediately.

Can someone guide how do i actually lodge a complaint. Am facing issue with my STB HD since 2months...finally wanted to call engineer when its completely off. 05/08 i called of their visited last time he said he would visit and fix the issue failed to come. I called on customercare she took me through entire process on off etc etc book reading process not even bothered to listen what am i conveying her. I told her its not signal issue, issue is with STB. Than she said ur account is suspended...my tv is off since 05/08 n due date was 07/08 how do u expect me to recharge. First recharge and call..great difficulty i had to hold cable n STB and recharge than call her she says no not rcvd any pmt kindly recharge n call again...i recharged again assuming banker would refund for unsuccessful recharge...unfortunately both pmts were deducted 1100/-. Again called her same answer not recharged..after some time one more exe ans call says no problem it will be adjusted for 2 months...i do not understand my issue is not resolved nor my tv is active why should i pay them. Finally took my complaint one technician calls on 10/08 says he will visit at 10.00am untill 11am no response i left to office call received from technician due to rain he could not come hell come evening at 6.00pm i reached home early n called no response to call. Another technician calls next day and co nveys he'll visit next day 9.00am i requested waited till 10.30 am no response after i left to office technician reaches my home at 1.00pm and informs that he will cgeck dish connection n come back no come back. And call done to technician n again promised to come next day mrng by 9.00am after 30mins a get a call from another technician that he just got a request and he would visit next day and finally visited on 13/08 9.30am and said issue with STB need to be replaced i can opt for new connection or go for upgrade to Xtream...when asked for stb issue why should i go for upgrade or new than came up with option of swap he'll get new STB w/o dish charges applicable 1500 + Visiting charges again. After which i had to call on airtel cc no proper response everytime i call within 24 hours we will get back to u. On 14/08 called cc and asked to register for swap of HD she said out of stock for HD STB (699/-)...if required i can opt for HD new connection (1300 +VC 150) or upgrade to Xtream (1999+VC 250). Stand alone HD STB out of stock but as a new connection available with 24 hrs...What is airtel trying to do ?? Forcefully making customers by there new products??why do they not have control Third party locally (technicians) troubling us and wasting our time without no resolution but asking to pay just becos they visited...now looking at their ads zero complaints...feel like never ever airtel...due to covid19 unable to reach any nearby stores...no right person answer call...i call on hyd number person from karnataka /TN responds atheir english i cant understand they cant understand telugu or hindi...no proper mail id or complaint portal...fedup explaining same everytime on call to customercare...can someone actually help me where do i get this standalone HD STB of airtel.
