I Agree with all the views above. But my case is slightly different but story line is the behaviour of the auto driver. Yesterday ( 18/04/2011), I took a pre-paid auto from Bangalore City Station to Basweshwar nagar. Even before i took my last Baggage, the Driver went away. I tried to chase him down, but couldn't do. I noted down the Registration number as well as the name of the driver. I went to Railway station and logged compliant with the Police counter there.I was given assurence by the pre-paid auto counter that they will Catch hold of the driver once he come back to their stand . But its been almost 50 hrs still the driver hasn't come to Pre-Paid counter and I am forced to run between different police stations. Police as well as the Pre-Paid counter are giving promise that they will get back the baggage.I am lossing my hope of getting it back as there is no trace of the driver and don't see any action being taken to contact him or trace him. . I am keeping my faith on Bangalore Police to trace me the baggage.

one of the auto driver behave me very rude wen iam travelling night majestic from koramangala. he trieng to snatch my persu and didnt return back my balance money. His auto number starting with A

Are these complaints used to be in complaint book only or there is any action taken.Still we are facing the same issue. Nowdays every place in bangalore is outskirt for auto rickshaw drivers.From Pai Layout to Old Madras Road Big Bazaar the actual charge per meter is Rs 17 at max Rs 20. But drivers are asking Rs 40. One driver asked Rs 70.Wherever you go Rs 20 extra is mandatory. If this is the scenario then you can not imagine other places. From KR Puram station to Pai layout per meter charge is Rs 20/25 but they are asking Rs 80. As there is absolutely no action our complaints will be within these complaint books only.

we agreed to the amt. asked by the driver, when we reached half the way it started raining and we were getting wet when he reached the arekere signal the same story started he asked us to pay extra money to go inside as agreed... the argument started and he started using abusing with slang and when we said to complain he said nothing gonna happen... he also charged the amt. that he asked... as i was with family i was forced to get down in the rain before reaching the house.

I was travelling from wilson garden to basavangudi. When I reached my destination the charge was 35 Rs. I gave him a hundred Rupee note and he said he doesnt have change. He stepped out of auto pretending to ask the other people standing there. Meanwhile I steeped into my gate and called out my neighbour to ask for change. Seeing this in a flash of time he fled away with my money. In bangalore the robbers were less that even the auto drivers have started robbing. Till I could stop him, he was out of sight.
I dont know his name or auto number but his auto was pretty new, green in color with speakers near the back seat. He address was of malleshwaram, he was fair with mustache and his photo was in black coat (which was on his auto licence). If I get this driver, I will make sure he is in the hands of police.
But what is the use of writing these complaints?? Is anyone taking any action against them? Due to no action taken, it is increasing the auto walas guts to cheat innocent people of their money. Instead why dont we citizens take some action and start commuting by buses instead of autos? Atleast then will those frauds will come on right track??

well people always make sure to note down the auto no. and driving license no. also when you are getting in an auto. getting in trouble is fine but being safe from our side is more important.

Now a days the auto driver misbehavior is increasing a lot and cops are doing nothing about it.According to me the auto driver should be booked for more than 2 year.
I had taken an autorikshaw yesterday night from Madiwala (just after the underpass, in front of ABT Travels) to BTM 28th Main.
I finally got an auto ( after waiting for 20 minutes hearing abuses from a minimum 10 autos who either refused to come by meter+1/2 charge or just passed as soon as I said BTM.) who initially quoted 50 and then agreed to come on meter +1/2.
I was travelling alone and the time was 9:00 pm on Saturday the 25th March 2012.
The auto number as i remember was KA01 10756
After reaching the destination, I saw the meter charge was 27 (or so) and as per the new charge sheet, it would come to 31, so i paid him Rs 46 and was about to leave when he said he dint understand the payment.
He switched on the light and kept counting his change and refering to the charge sheet for around 5 minutes, during which I kept repeating the calculation, thinking perhaps he wanted to charge me more than the actual amount.
Finally I realized what he was doing. He had placed the new charge sheet a little to the right and had left his pant zip open so that I had to stare at something very discusting.
That was when i changed tone and he started the auto and moved off..
It was a very disgusting and scary experience, since I was alone in the PG (Paying Guest accomodation) when I stay and got dropped that night and there was no one about on the road too.
I have not told my parents or siblings (who are all based out of state) about this incident as they would get worried sick about my safety and feel helpless too.
I'm not sure if he would get the kind of punishment I think he deserves, but please do take some action against him at the earliest before some other hapless daughter/mother/sister goes through the same horrible experience that I had to go through.

I don't think there is any use of these complaints as he did this very near to traffic police station. There is a limit to test the patience and the limit has been crossed by these . Police must take serious actions against these drivers NOW.

Reason: 1) Giving wrong information 2) Threatening & using bad words against me 3) Cheating public joining hands with Auto men. I am available in person & over phone for any further queries. 1) I was told to pay 1.5 times the normal fare if the time is more than 10 when getting down (please note: not the boarding time). I was given a slip of 110 & was asked to pay 165 2)When I told the time is not yet 10 how can you ask for 1.5 times. the person in the counter started scolding me using bad words, and the police man was also there after sometime he also started threatening me. 3) The time in the system was 10 - 15 minutes faster than the actual time, this facilitates the auto people to charge more from the public with the help of the police men even when it is not the time for 1.5 times the charges.

I would like to report a Auto driver - Auto details : KA 21 6490 who has abused me when asked for the extra money he was trying to take.
Stating he doesn't have "chillar". When I gave the change he refuse to give me the money back. Only when said will report to the police and refuse to get down from the Auto and arguing for 15 mins. Did I get the full change back.
This is the second incident I have come across after moving to Bangalore. They want extra money for everything and charge further more when they have to give back the change of 10 - 30 bucks. We as citizen are losing more money everytime we sit in an Auto ricksaw. Thanks to them the transportation in Bangalore is further getting a bad name.

This is bring to your kind attention that One of the Auto Richshaw driver has asked me to pay Rs. 100 extra other than meter/prepaid slip charge, he was abusing me, he was making seriously vulgar gestures that I cant explain, he was also about to beat me and physically intimidate. When force him to take to police station, he took us to near place and force us to get out of auto and he run away.

This is bring to your kind attention that One of the Auto Richshaw driver has snatched Rs. 365 from me and while asking he was just asked me to speak in Kannada. I went to M.S Ramaiah Hospital on 01-Apr-2011 for some official work and took rickshaw from there to Meenakshi Temple . Bannerghatta Road. He asked me to pay Rs. 20 extra other than metre charge, I agreed on that but while on destination he asked me to pay Rs. 300 but on metre it was Rs. 240.I was agree to pay 260 . but finally he snatched Rs. 365 from my wallet and ran away.
This is my kind request to take legal action against him. I was just the guest of Bangalore and they did so. its disgusting. Below are the details of Driver
