[Resolved]  Auto Rickshaw — Auto rickshaw complaint

Today, 22nd July 2009, morning at 9.15 am(approx) I was travelling from Koldongri to Reliance Energy office, Prabhat Colony. The aouto no. is MH02X9958. The autowala said yes . After a minute he said I will take you from Highway only and not service road. In fact during these days Highway remains pack. Hence I told him to take me from serviceroad only. Since it was not raining there was no problem to travel by service road. He wasted approximately 10-15 minutes. Then I told him to take me to police station. He arrogently replied that it is better to take you to police station so that I can waste your time. Then due to other public pressure & since I kept on insisting, after wasting my 20-25 minutes, he took me to the destination from service road . I would like to mention here that the service road was very clear. The autowala wanted higher fare hence he wanted to take me from highway.
I request you to please take stirn action against him, so that he need not waste other's time. If he is driving auto only for time pass, his license should be cancelled.

auto driver with no MH 02Z3881 HAVE DO MISBEHAVIOR WITH MY FAMILY AND ALSO HAD DO FIGHT WITH US PLEASE TAKE ACTION

On busy swargate road, Pune. I come across a very rude rikshaw driver that too without uniform & also he was druken which could I have caused harm to the trafic all together. I noted down his rikshaw number even I asked him to come to RTO office & offcouse he denied. Rikshaw number(MTQ 3810). Request you for appropriate action against auto rikshaw driver. Thanks.

Auto No: MH 02 TA 3912. This auto driver misbehaved with us and was not ready to stop the auto even after repeatedly telling him to. His meter is tampered and was showing fares by Rs 10 more. Please help

I agree with the fares showing extremely high by the MH03 meters. I took a rickshaw from Ghatkopar station to Powai and by the time I had reached Ghatkopar depot his meter was showing 38 Rs. I got this to his notice that I have been travelling by the same route for more than 5 years and on an average the fare is between 32-35 Rs. He immediately stopped the vehicle and asked me to get another rickshaw and pay him 40 Rs then and there. After 5 minutes of argument and me not getting down from the ricksaw he started the vehicle again and then he did not drop me near my office but at the main road of powai.Since I was getting late for office I didn't argue much and paid him only 35 Rs although his meter was showing 53 Rs . I have noted down his number which is MH03 V 2242 and I think crooks like these are creating big nuisance for our society.
I request for a strict action to be taken against this rickshaw driver so that he gets his meter rectified as well as behave appropriately so that any one does not have to face inconvinience just the way I did.

DAY :- I was travelling with my wife and daughter, dated 9/08/09, SUNDAY time 9AM from MITHAPUR near JAITPUR to Sunlight colony ASHRAM and I asked to all autowalas which were standing over there they were asking high charges like 100-110 although it comes Rs.65 only by miter from Mithapur to sunlight colony and they are not ready to go by meter as use well "SAB AUTO WALO NE YAHI BOLA KI METER NAHI CHAL RAHA".

NIGHT :- Same day night around 9:30PM i asked 3-4 autowalas at ASHRAM chowk for MITHAPUR and they were also asking same charges Rs.100-110 and meter were not working as use well.i told my wife sit in the auto DL1RK0057 and do not get down to auto i am go to call traffic police man near ashram chowk and police man came with me and helped me i took same auto DL1RK0057 which were not ready to go before believe me autowala dropped us in the dark place near APOLO HOSPITAL and said my auto is not working take another auto "OR METER KA JO BANTA HAI HO DE DO" i was shocked and i said will not pay and we moved from there. Me, my wife and daughter 10 PM "PADAL APOLO HOSPITAL TAK GAI" . There were many autowalas standing there i asked to DL1RK5269 and DL1RG5804 they were not ready to go and when they agreed, started asking high charged Rs.100, by it comes only Rs.35-40/-, i was there with my family till 11PM and finally i took bus for mithapur from APOLO HOSPITAL.That day was worse for my life.

This is my humble request to you please give them big punishment and canceled there license. so that they can not do again this.

I also agree with the fares showing extremely high on MH03 meters.. I traveled from Andheri station to IIT, Bombay, Powai. Rickshaw no. is MH03 AA 4369. I almost travel twice to thrice in a week by same route. I found drastic change in fare. Meter was showing Rs.85 whereas just day before it was Rs.58. traffic conditions were almost same in both cases. Though I was getting late, i asked driver about meter condition, "is it showing correct fare?", confidently he replied "yes". Even he didn't have change and asking for 2 to 3 Rupees more. It was really trying my nerves. But I had to go since i was getting late.
I really feel bad that our society does not have any control on such looters. It is really a matter of shame for "Amchi Mumbai".
Please take action against these kind of con persons.

Autorickshaw Meter reading — Meter giving incorrect reading

The Autorickshaw I hired from Mulund Cheknaka to Voltas HRD Center, Thane gave incorrect reading. The Vehicle No. was - MH 04 BC 7596.

On being questioned the autorickshaw driver raised his voice and refused to take the correct amount. The correct reading is in the range of Rs. 33 to Rs. 35.

Whist this driver charged Rs. 37 citing that the meter reading was correct.

from goregaon station auto driver reufse to go anyhwere, god knows where they want to go.people are just fighting to catch auto.situation is getting worse day by day.Few days back i wanted to go kurar village i struggles for auto almost 2hr but no one ready to go and finally i have to return home and work was not done.Earlier i used to work in Andheri east and the situation is so bad that u will not find auto to go chakala or either side and nor from chakala to goregoan, andheri station, 4 bunglow etc.they sit idle and pass on dirty comments on girls women struggling for auto or they simple make wierd face and say no sometime even they give bad words.Navi Mumbai Juinagar Vashi side they dont have meter system they demand . METER READING HIGH of evry second auto. Seeing this either auto to banned in mumbai and let them face problem what we daily suffer and increase public transport like more buses ac non ac etc

Auto Rickshaw — not ready to go to place where we desire

This is seen very often that auto rickshaw drivers are not ready to go to place where we desire

i have to go from seelampur to east azad nagar. and no auto rickshaw going there by there meter and without meter they charge Rs.50 but today they were asking for Rs.70 and all autos are being in an group. i am giving you the auto rickshaw no.DL1R K 9213 AND DL1RG 9572 if possible please take action on such auto rickshaw

I stay at bangur nagar, Goregaon W and my office is near Grand sarovar hotel. I ususally commute by an autorickshaw. No auto is ready to come to this place in the morning due to which i get late for office. The reason they give for not going thre is more traffic in that area. The reason is absolutely rediculous

I want you to strictly look into this matter.

Auto Rickshaw — drivers charging more

Pune- Pashan sai chowk autoriksha drivers chrging 1/2 return even in the day time also. If you protest, they reply arrogantly. Once I told them I will complaint, he said he himself is police doing part time this job. Sai chowk stop is the worst !

DO YOU HAVE ANY PLAN FOR MUMBAI’S RICKSHAW WALA AND TAXI WALA. NOW A DAY VERY DIFFICULT TO GO OUT WITH FAMILY, BECAUSE THESE ALL GUYS ARE DOING THEIR OWN {MARJI} IF YOU ASK ANYTHING TO THEM THEY STRAIGHT AWAY THEY SAID NO.

Auto Rickshaw — Redundancy of meters in Autorickshaws

Dear Concerned,

I do not want to sound pessimistic, however I would like to start this typing with a doubt if anybody actually reads and acts on these complaints. My doubt seems right otherwise there would not have been an increasing number of issues on this website.

Anyhow, I propose that the Govt. of India and transport authority in Delhi should conduct a survey on the use of meters and the finally order to REMOVE METERS for fare calculation from Autos. This will save a huge amount of cost incurred in manufacturing them. The survey will show that less then 10% auto drivers make use of meters that shall finally prove my point that meters are a useless object pasted behind the drivers seat to accessorize the moving object called auto.

Simply said, that there should be a directive that whoever does not have a functional meter/does not use it and travels through 'WORD OF MOUTH QUOTED NEGOTIATED PRICES'. This practise is widely being used specially to harass women specially in winters and evenings. Another theory is that autorikshaw fares by verbal communication are directly proportional to age of women and the darkness in the climate. My appeal must have made you realize what a frustrated and harrassed female travelling through road I am.

Kindly suggest a remedy to stop these dirty unethical activities with immediate effect. Pre paid booths should again come into practise and the auto complaints should be addressed to within 24 hours by tracking the driver and fining Rs. 100/- for each complaint registered for not using meter. Rest you are more efficient than I am to suggest a solution if the willingness exists.

I am born and brought up in Mumbai city. Working from last 9 years with Tourism Industry. Travelling as part of any one who stays in Mumbai, especially in suburbs I travel every day from Santacruz station to Cst Road which is little ahead o[censored]niversity of Mumbai.

I pay every day Rs. 22.00 as per meter. Today morning I got in rickshaw and luckily there was no traffic on road. When I reached my destination I realized meter was reading Rs. 30.00 and rickshaw need servicing as it was stopped 4 times before my final destination. I asked rickshaw driver that meter working properly or not he told that it’s working very well. Then I told him sir I don’t think so it’s not working properly as I am coming everyday, same time. He started arguing with me that he also travel everyday from Santacruz station to Cst Road.

While getting done from rickshaw I noted down his rickshaws number at that time he is telling “sorry my meter not working properly and I need to repair, you don’t pay me as per meter you pay me as per you are use to pay”. I paid him Rs. 22.

Now, who is going to take care of these instances how long should we be hesitating to trust the mostly available and commutable public transport system. The governments are changing, people are changing, but the conditions remain the same and the basic daily routine of working class never happen to change and life is becoming totally insecure and bitter day by day. Why are the concerned authorities not doing or acting appropriately to deal with this kind of rogues. Their licenses should be cancelled and the vehicles to be seized.

Just like other citizen of mumbai, i am also a victim of mumbai autodriver's irresponsibility and cheating. It has been my general experience that taking an advantage of ignorance and lack of strict actions i often face auto-rickshaw driver charging more by making some changes in meter. Many times they have agreed to be taking less amount than the one showing on meter as they know they are cheaters and aftraid of getting punished. But now a days it has become extremely difficult to tolerate this everyday. I face this almost everyday while traveling from andheri station to sakinaka or kandivali to Link Road.the reasons are very common."THE METER RUNS VERY".

I have noted down the recent autorickshaw number MH02 UA1807. which i had taken from kandivali to Malad(Mindspace) in the moring at 9.00. I have paid extra as per meter though there was no traffic the meter was showing more than i pay when i face bad traffic. It becomes difficult for women to tackel such situation everyday.I request you to please take some core actions for benefit of citizen that can take immediate actions on the spot.

Complain against MH03 J 2484 Auto Rickshaw Driver for manipulating meter and rude behavior.

I travel from andheri east to IIT, Bombay, Powai, inside campus, regularly.

fare should be between 65 to 70. And I normally get same reading but on 11th December 2009 it was 77 even I did not enter into the campus. When I asked about this to the driver he started speaking rudely with me and asked me to complain as he knows nothing is going to happen even if I complain about him.

I request you, please take strict action against him to stop loot.
