[Resolved]  Croma Store, Mount Road Chennai — Callousness in customer service.

With utmost regret and pain I am highlighting the sequence of event which happened to me (and customer like me) which is diluting the brand image of TATA. I don’t believe in my wildest dream that this could happen under TATA group of companies.

I purchase a CTV LG 21” & Tata Sky from croma retail store Mount road, Chennai on 02 April. Delivery date was 03 April however; I still don’t have TV with me. Reasons cited are unacceptable.

April 03: No call since 6:30 PM from any of the store representative. On response to my two calls it was being informed that TV will not be delivered today. You can expect it tomorrow between 2-6 PM. Anonymous reasons had been provided.

April 04: No call since 5 PM from company representative. On response to my call they informed that it will be delivered till 9 PM. With my utter surprise I had also been asked to call tata sky office to confirm about the installation unlike earlier promise by store guys -that they will co-ordinate with tata sky to see that it is installed on Saturday-.

I called up Tata sky and found number non responsive. I called up Croma office and being informed that today is holiday for Tata Sky. I don’t understand the unawareness and callousness by the representative towards responding a customer properly.
I received a call from delivery personnel regarding address confirmation and then a mum since two hours. Upon enquiring it was informed that TV has been misplaced with another customer’s TV. Great job TATA….

In this light I pose below questions to express my regret:
1. Do informing customer is not part of service for unprecedented delay?

2. Is this a customer responsibility to beg for the product to be delivered after paying upfront?


3. Are the staff insensitiveness is acceptable in the competitive environment? I purchased AC from nearby small showroom called STANDARD and it was installed in a day as compare to Croma which require 3 days to install!! If this is acceptable by TATA standard then I have nothing to say.

4. Sorry to write that the entire service experience with Croma gives me a feeling like customer needs to be free if they want to take its service. Customer needs to follow up and even skip office to get TV delivered on 05 April Monday by 11 AM. Store is actually doing a favor by delivering your product at your home.

I never had such bad experience with any of the services or product companies. However, I am highly astonished, shocked and in mental trauma after the kind of response I got from Mount road store and that too from TATA.

The TATA trust has been demolished. I now don’t believe in any of the timing given to render service and really want my money back to have mental peace.

I also have similar experience i bought 1.5 ton AC from Chroma Palam Vihar Gurgaon. I had to wait 5-6 days for the installations despite the continuous promises from Choroma Staff of Palam Vihar Gurgaon everyday . The worst part is the mode of communication u need to dial their landline number which goes to AVR and u cant be sure that when some one will be able to receive the call. i tried at least 20 times in 5 days and only 2 times i found myself fortunate enough to take to the staff.
Tragedy doesn't end here the voltage controller they provided was faulty so now installations are done but AC cant run as we need controller for that :(.
then they sent stabilizer in three days when i called them several times and that too was the another cheaper model now i will have to personally visit Chroma after my office to get the same model of controller .. this is simply spoiling the brand image of Tata .. and its patetic

I purchased a Sony Ericsson mobile model T 700 from Croma store, Aditya City Centre – Ghaziabad Vide sale no. 1776105 which was covered under 2 years extended warranty. The cell phone started creating problems and I contacted your customer care and I was advised to deposit the same at Sony Ericsson service center RT Outsourcing Ltd. Faridabad. The same was deposited on 2nd Aug 2010, vide work order no. SE[protected] and I was promised there that the same will be rectified in a day or so since then I am visiting the service center after every alternate day now I have come to know that they will not repair my set until they receive the payment from croma for the same I am being treated in the service center as beggar because I am the customer of Croma and I have given the extended warranty to croma and not to Sony Ericsson. Now I’ll request your good self to look into the matter and arrange my mobile to get it back to me to avoid any future complications and maintain good relations in future.

I am really fcuking mad at the utter disgraceful customer service the croma, mount road, chennai have. First of all the staff there, either you cannot here them nor since they speak softer than a mouse or... they speak so loudly but you cannot make out a word they are saying. I went to buy a few items from there and I literally wanted to go check if he had marbles or three whole packets of chewing gum.
I had to keep saying "sorry, what did you say?? and what did you say??" It was so exhausting for me to continue but most of all for the fcuker with the marbles. How can they think of employing people like this??
I finally bought something because of my knowledge and previous research... no thanks to the !!! The display item was the last and only item available.

The item was delivered but was imcomplete packing... with incorrect product manual and no casing as they promised. Even the company brands that they sell have a very bad name for them and say that the service at croma mount round is pathetic towards the customer and supplier. So I went back next day to enquire about the missing items from Mr. Marbles ChewingGum. After a few cross fire calls in the shop they managed to blame each other but produced the correct manual. Whilst the wait I heard the store manager shouthing at some of his staff in front of other customers that "He is too busy and got a lot of things to do rather than help his staff".. I mean ...wtf???. I thought that was unusual but I got my complete product.
That was not all!!
I went again but to buy something else this time cos I saw it last time I went and it wasn't avaiable anywhere else. This time Mr. Mouse was with me. Yet again the product I chose was last in shop, display model. I agreed to take it and asked for a discount if possible. He gave me such a shocking disturbed look as if I was bad mouthing him. I ignored it. While waiting for him to process the product Mr Marbles ChewingGum from the previous visit came to me for some additional signatures for the stuff I brought in the previous visit. I ignored him cos I already spent more than an hour signing the papers that they didn't have ready for me. After mush pestering from him, I replied to him that if he was bothered and wanted the money he would have made an effort and called me for it. Now that I was in the shop second time he was there asking me to continue to second eepisode... wtf??
Now here is the disgusting part of the service there.
The product I bought in the second visit also did not have a complete box with manual. Anyway I took it I didn't need the box as I was gifting it to someone. I did present it to my friend and had to try it to show how it works since there was no manual available.
I thought since this product is from a big company like TATA the product quality would be good... To my horror and I am still extremely mad... the FCUKING thing DID NOT SWITCH ON!!! AT ALL!!!

That was soooooooooooooooooo embarracing!!! To gift something to someone in another city and it doesn't work from the start in front of both, you and your friend is Absolutly EMBARRASSING!!! mind you the product was a CROMA brand!!!

Please DOONOT!!! go to CROMA!!! They are completely !!! DISGRACEFUL and PATHETIC!!!
I too have a similar story. I purchased a water purifier which got delivered only after a weeks time, which they promised to deliver in a day. As usual there was no communication from them. The only mistake I did was, to go by the brand name TATA. Here's my big tata to TATA!!!
